Whooo I can beat that, I actually DANCED with the drummer, Alan somebody at a local "disco" when i was just a wee young thing, and the next week danced with Midge Ure when he was still playing in a local Scottish band called Slik!!!:eek::eek: Have I led the high life or what???
    Definitely the high life, dopey:D:D:D
OK everything sorted, tartan trews, cut off at the worst part of my calves, shirt with tartan patches (used to be a shop in Glasgow where they made them to measure and your own spec), hair standing on end a la Woody and guitar hanging around my bum (things do keep hanging around my bum, either I've shrunk or everything is longer than I remember)

Hubert is a bit upset, doesn't want to be tied up but will wear the fetching tartan nappy I have fashioned out of a spare kilt, so still not bringing the shovel.

I thought I'd bring a few prawn cocktails and a black forrest gateau and of course a couple of bottles of martini and one of cinzano (can you still buy cinzano and is that how you spell it???) God we knew how to live then!!!!

Hubert's going to look lovely, dopey, are the aliens dressing up as well?
Ugh Cinanzo..... I got drunk out of my skull on cinanzo when i as about 14 or 15......... evening saying the word still makes me feel sick!
Do you remember Taboo? I had a similar experience & now every time i even smell it i retch!!!!
I'd like to say these days i am more sensible, but i think my alcohol tolerance has just increased!!!!! :rotfl:

This is bringing back dreadful memories of gin and orange (not orange juice but a foul livid made-up juice that was so sweet it would destroy your teeth at 10 paces). Even now, xxxx years later, the smell of gin makes me want to heave:(:(:(

I remember the first time they introduced Pernod over here......still can't drink it:eek: Woke up in the morning with 2 pernod t.shirts, 5 beer mats, two ashtrays, still drunk and a lovely blackcurrant moustache!!:rotfl:

This is turning into confession corner - our mis-spent youths coming to the fore:rotfl::rotfl:

Well done Spoony, you've got your pandy!!:T:j:T:j:T

    Thanks, if:A

Never tried Cinzano (didn't like the smell) or Taboo (or the other one that went with Taboo)

In the mid to late 80s I used to drink G&T, but I went off the Tonic water so switched to Gin & Diet Cola (yep, you read that right! It had many bar staf repeating the order back to be sure they'd heard it right ;)) until I went off the Gin as well !!!

Pernod was another I got into - but with lemonade rather than blackcurrant

All time favourite (from the mid 80s onwards) was Midori - but it was hard to get hold of and very, very few drinking establishments stocked it. One 'after work' Christmas do (mid 90s) was held at a venue that did, and (despite alternating Midori & Lemonade with plain Lemonade) I was more than a little tiddly come time to go home. My colleagues had hardly ever seen me drink before - and certainy not to the extent I did that night - so one older lass hung around until my taxi arrived...... and made sure I gave the driver the right destination and had enough money to pay him before letting me leave :o

Allo lovely evening, great start to weekend. I could ramble on and on and waffle about the weather and tomorrows tardis trip, but its all to camouflage the fact that today was a spendy, but only a teeny one, dgs asked for a water blaster like his friends, and he had been so good ,and he goes back yo school next week, and I felt like treating him, and when he saw it he was, like so chuffed it was worth the £2.99 oh less 10% cos I had a voucher.

ahh! isn't it lovely when they get a treat they weren't expecting and REALLY appreciate it..sadly my darling niece and nephews aren't always as grateful....
Definitely sorted on the music side, Nargle, I've got albums by Slade, the Osmonds and Sweet, Mud and Glitter band singles (and I can still remember the dance to "Tiger Feet").

I'm going as Suzi Quatro, leather jacket, jeans, high boots, all I need is a guitar now

Food - pineapple and cheese on sticks and vol au vents, definitely
Drink - babycham (with a cherry on a stick)

Guilty confession - I went to see the Bay City Rollers before they became famous:o:o:o (not something I normally admit to:o:o)

Ohhh! cheese and pineapple, my FAV! :j:j Can we also have pina coladas a la Del Boy styleee please if we're going retro?
Ugh Cinanzo..... I got drunk out of my skull on cinanzo when i as about 14 or 15......... evening saying the word still makes me feel sick!

Dry Blackthorn cider was mine - went to a party with some school friends who were in the year above and drank nearly all of my friends bottle (one of the big ones with 33% extra free ).... still can't touch cider to this day, even that pear cider everyone seems to like makes we want to gag

I do recall a perond and black incident several years later (when I was old enough to drink! :o) when my OH used to drink it and got me into it. We'd been watching the footie in the pub and moved from beers to pernod and black. I woke up the next morning to find a big pernod and black stain on the shoulder of my football shirt...I had clearly missed my mouth by a country mile and have no recollection of doing it at all :rotfl::rotfl::o

Little spend day yesterday as got Mr Looloo a coffee as he paid for all the shopping x

It was Martini Rosso that did it for me when I was about 15 -I can still recall sitting on a beach in Ireland on a boiling hot day with my head in a bucket after a night on that stuff.
Even now 40 years later I couldnt drink it even if you paid me a million pounds...................well maybe LOL!

:jWell I'v done it,got to 15, walked past the shop, the chippydamm made me feel hungry even 2 newsagent's to claim a nsd. All this talk about what you first got drunk on is bringing back memory's, it was in the 70's I was 5/6 year's old and Mum + dad had a dinner party, they left the wine on the table when they went to bed,I woke up early the next day and wanted a drink,Mum said there's a bottle of pop on the table,so I went downstair's and started drinking what I thought was the pop, turned out it was red wine uugh ,they got up later to find me asleep with the empty bottle:o,to this day red wine make's me feel ill.
