Allo lovely evening, great start to weekend. I could ramble on and on and waffle about the weather and tomorrows tardis trip, but its all to camouflage the fact that today was a spendy, but only a teeny one, dgs asked for a water blaster like his friends, and he had been so good ,and he goes back yo school next week, and I felt like treating him, and when he saw it he was, like so chuffed it was worth the £2.99 oh less 10% cos I had a voucher.

Well, had to spend a bit today on stuff I had forgotten to get in my online delivery shop, so slap my wrists there! Next possible NSD will be Sunday. I know I will not make my target for the month but I will still keep trying because whatever my final figure is for August will be my starting target for September. Then just maybe I will get the breakdancing budgie or the waltzing wildebeest........

Well I couldn't find you a breakdancing budgie, Nargle, but will this little chap do?

Still on the hunt for the waltzing wildebeest, you've given me an idea there:D:D

Well that's it then, the theme for tomorrow's party - Seventies boys bands! Come dressed as someone from Bay City Rollers, Slade, Glitter Band, Sweet, Mud, the Osmonds....and appropriate music of course!

Definitely sorted on the music side, Nargle, I've got albums by Slade, the Osmonds and Sweet, Mud and Glitter band singles (and I can still remember the dance to "Tiger Feet").

I'm going as Suzi Quatro, leather jacket, jeans, high boots, all I need is a guitar now

Food - pineapple and cheese on sticks and vol au vents, definitely
Drink - babycham (with a cherry on a stick)

Guilty confession - I went to see the Bay City Rollers before they became famous:o:o:o (not something I normally admit to:o:o)

    Freezer stocktake finished (finally!) again.......

Managed to ram another loaf of bread in, but still have more bread and stuffed pasta that needs to go in ASAP

Am now eyeing up the 4 joints I have taking up space, and wondering how much space I can free up by cooking, slicing, and bagging them into individual portions before returning them to the freezers fool3.gif

I'm guessing it should free up quite a bit of room, especially as the three turkey ones (they're 700-750g) are all wierd shapes (very wide one end and narrow the other) and the pork one (1.75kg) is still on the tray the butchers put it on to pack it.......

Biggest question is, if I put all the turkey ones into the oven at the same time how do I calculate the cooking time? They can't possibly take as long as a 2.1kg joint would, but I can see them needing a bit longer than a 750g one cooked alone might unknown.gif

Sounds like a good plan to me, Cheryl, it should free up some space for you.

If cooking more than one joint I normally allow around a quarter of the original time on top - both are normally coooked OK with that extra bit of time but I always do the skewer test to make sure. When cooking four, I would think around a third to half of the time on top and then check them all with a skewer, they should be done (but not overdone) by then. Of course, it depends where they are in the oven as well.

    Hope that helps a bit.
