change 02 contract onto micro sim
HI, i hope somebody can help me as the phone companies have no idea.
I have bought a iphone 4 from apple. This uses a microsim so i asked for one from o2 my current supplier.
They say i need to buy out my contract that has over 12 months left and get a new plan.
That makes no sence.
My current plan also has unlimited data so it shoudlnt be an issue of transfering my number onto these new sim cards.
So has anyone on here had the same problem? IF you have how did you solve it? Any help is better than no help as some of the staff didnt know it had a different sim and others had no clue.
cheers

[STRIKE]It made me laugh watching it, all he did at first was zoom in and out for a while :P
Its alright, but as you can tell it needs the sensor on the wall, and its not very precise. Plus he doesnt wear a fancy sci-fi glove[/STRIKE]
Edit - Bizzare, i made this post on another topic.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
buy a sim card cutter from ebay (or cut it yourself) and make you current sim a micro sim.
make your own

I acquired a blank micro sim from Apple when I bought my iPhone 4 (admittedly, I bought in store). Once you've got a blank micro sim you can swap it over yourself on the O2 website (http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/). So I suggest you try Apple to see if you can get a blank O2 micro sim from then.0

O2 don't even know I have an iPhone 4 (why should they? None of their business really). I cut down my sim (carefully) with scissors and it works fine. Job done!0

Actually they do. The network logs the IMEI every time you use the phone, the IMEI tells them the handset type ect.0 -

HI
An update, Called 02, which is actually o2 carphonewarehouse, and they say my sim is not compatible and i need to get a new plan. somehow i dont belive them,
i do have a microsim but its on payg. so i cant do the transfer the sim on 02 website.
For those of you that have tried cutting it, i have unlimited data plan, can you still access the net or just make calls when u cut the sim and use it
thank you0 -
The sim will work fine in iphone, probably the reason they want you to get a new sim is that they have stopped doing unlimited data plans so it will cost them money, cut your sim, pop it in iphone and enjoy your unlimited data plan!:AWhatever it is - I didn't do it!:A0

If you're CPW direct then their systems don't support microsims, you'd have to wait to be migrated across to O2 direct.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0
