I signed up for Sky broadband a few months ago and even to this day it says on my account page 'When you purchased Sky Broadband, we estimated that the maximum download speed for your line was 1.5Mb', however, we are receiving much lower than this. If your broadband and phone work from your test socket then there is nothing wrong with it.
Are there any wires connected to the back of the faceplate?
If so remove anything connected to pin 3 and try again.
