I think having a foot in the door helps. I started out at the beginning of the year as a parent helper. I do have some other relevant experience (diploma in adult education and foundation level in deaf studies) which helped and all of my sons have special educational needs. I spoke to the headteacher before applying and made it clear I wanted to apply for the gtp. I also asked a teacher friend to help me fill out my application form as it was so formulaic. You have to know the buzz words!

What is your new job doing?

Chickens are very happy and settled already. Can't wait for my first eggs!

Ahhhh I don't want to be doing my assignment, I want to be outside or sitting here drinking tea thinking about the jam making im going to be doing at the weekend, or all the meal plans I need to do....... studying is so tiresome!

Don't knock it! It's one of life's simplest pleasures picking food from the garden. B1 picked greengages and made jam with his uncle last week and he loved it! We're having runner beans and blackberries from the garden this week. Have just put chooks to bed but one is missing. I'm sure she has taken herself off to roost but can't find her anywhere!

oh dont worry ruby, im sure she'll be fine. i was advised to keep them in for 2 weeks then before they go to bed say "come on girls" and throw them some corn, then every time you want them to come in, and you say "come on girls" they know you have food and come running. not that it helps you now but im sure she'll be ok.

Mine keep going to sleep with one of their heads poking out, usually i just give them a nudge and they go back in, but not tonight she put up a right fight, shes the noisest one, took me ages to actually be able to close the door, got to fully clean them out tomorrow, lovely!!!

I have started my assignment have done 500 words only 1000 to do, but its a lot easier once i've started and i know what I'm saying, so hopefully I will get it finished tomorrow.

right im going to sleeps now

    n'nights

    zzzzzz
