I cna't afford to take offers on that price though and no offers will put people off

    Don't put no offers then!

I only ever search for cars up to 2k, so do a lot of people and wouldn't pay that for an 8 year old vectra. Sorry :o

I have to say I agree with the other posters- every car sells at its price and I think the reason it is not selling is because it seems to me to be a bit expensive.

I note you say you need £2k but I think that might be ambitious but best of luck, you never know.

Well sorry, you are stuck with it, it isn't worth anything like what you are asking, that is why you have not sold it.

Not a big market for Vectra's.

Thanks for your advice, but there's no need to be sarky.

I wasn't being " sarky " I was stating facts in answer to your request.

    No need to be rude.

Face it, your Vectra isn't worth what you are asking, almost everybody has stated that quite clearly.

Thing is, unless you put a bargain price up for it, putting no offers will just mean you wasting money on the advert. (And £1999 wasn't a suggestion as a bargain price, just to get you more interest!)

You have been told why you aren't selling it - just be realistic!

On auto trader you are competing with approx 30 other (petrol) vectras in a radius of 60 miles to me that are all under £2K (and under 60K miles).

I'd suggest you are honestly going to struggle on price.

My 2004 Vectra (the newer shape) was £3000 with 60k on the clock 2 years ago. Dealers at the time were asking for around £3800-£4500.

People pay dealer prices because they "think" they're buying securely and safely (fools). But they won't pay dealer prices for a private sale im afraid :/

I know, I just really need the £2k for my mortgage :(. I just wanted to know how I could improve the advert aesthetically. But thank you

the dealers around us would sell that for between 1500-1700, so i have to agree with others, it's far to overpriced

Well would you be happy to pay over and above the going rate because the seller has mortgage trouble?

Or would you bypass that ad and look for something more reasonably priced?

Really it's not rocket science, everyone is short of money at the moment so it's the world's worst time to try and sell an overpriced car.

You could try a classified ad on ebay but not sure you'd get much more interest tbh.
