Hi all,
I'm selling my car but had very little response which I'm finding a bit strange.

    Hi,

I am in the same situation as you and trying to sell my car. We have been selling it for about 6 months now. It has been on autotrader, pistonheads, ebay and more. We have had about 4 people enquire about it. We have since relisted it on ebay at a cheaper price and we are getting a bit more interest and we will have hopefully sold it by Saturday. We were really dissappointed we could sell it at the higher price as we feel its a real bargain now if someone should buy it!!! What price did yours start at and how much have you reduced it by?
:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j

£2300 seems a lot for an old Vectra

I started at £2295 and then took it down £2195 and made it clear I would accept offers. It might not have updated to the newest price online yet. I can't afford to sell it for less than £2000 really.

Would you recommend ebay over autotrader?

Make the price 1999, then you will get it shown to everyone searching for cars up to £2000.

I thought it seemed a lot of money!

Also the comment about going so far on so little fuel kind of conveys that the car hasn't been well looked after, that's what I would think about that comment, that chances are regularly taken with the car and that maintenance of it might be an issue for me. Sorry, but you did ask :o

Perhaps if you took that bit out and put in something about the good fuel economy?

    How many owners?

    Service History ?

Photo 5 shows inability of driver to park/drive safely, rear wheel is a good foot out from the kerb, alarm bells ringing.

    Over priced for a Vectra.

Any car will sell at the right price.;)

You don't say the exact model spec but basically the price is too high.

Put it in eBay with no reserve and 1p starting price and it will go, I have done this with cars valued from nothing to £8k and always got what I expected.

    Cambelt changed at 34k??....when though?
Belts are changed by mileage or age, whichever comes first so the belt could have been changed 4 years ago meaning it needs changed imminently.

8 year old Vectra for £2200??...seems too expensive to me.

fuel comment is unnecessary - most people do research on the car before buying.

Any car will sell if the price is right, regardless of what it is or what the economic climate is - there's always a buyer.
I sold a BMW Z4 3.0 SE in March to someone who travelled from Wales because the price was right. It's often less than you want to accept but to sell you need to live with it.

Well sorry, you are stuck with it, it isn't worth anything like what you are asking, that is why you have not sold it.

Not a big market for Vectra's.
