Hi used the Rapide XL utra yesterday (delivered 3 days after ordering) and have to say I loved it. Light yellow sofa cleaned and carpets much improved. The only minor issue I have is that the clean water tank is too small, I had to refill it 4 times to do my living room carpet. All in all though very happy thanks to OP. Cleaner + loads of carpet shampoo delivered for about £100 cannot be bad.3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch + Solar Immersion installed May 2013, after two Solar Immersion lasting just over the guarantee period replaced with Solic 200... no problems since0

I had an upright Vax carpet washer, bought it in a sale like this direct from them about 18 months ago. Worked brilliantly the first couple of times and then steadily got worse and worse. Bloody difficult to get all the nooks and crannies clean too so after about six months I had to relegate it to the shed as it smelled damp. I've since sent it to land fill/local tip as I couldn't even pass it on on Freegle due to it's worthlessness!
To balance this review, we did have an orange 'buckety-style' Vax (like the multifunction ones on the website) a long time ago which was passed on to me by my grandmother. She must have bought it sometime in the mid eighties and it was blooming marvellous. Solidly built, lasted forever. OH broke the handle bit on it and as we were just due to move, rather than buy the part we decided to 'treat' ourselves to a new one - worst decision EVER! So I would have to disagree with 1984 and say the old machine we had from years ago was poles apart from the rubbish we bought off them recently."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper
