Thanks for that OP. I was actually in the market for one of those carpet cleaners and got one at a nice price.0

Ah right, i see.
Did you manage to order something?
eBay prices are high atm, but i'm guessing they will plummet soon.1984ReturnsForReal wrote: »Its old models.
Retailers are flogging it off cheap & they go for next to nothing on ebay.
The only ones that sell on ebay are dual purpose & this site isn't selling any from what I have seen.
They have massive warehouse in Droitwich & no doubt its half full of old models.
They are a good company & always used to sell to friends & family of workers cheap at promotion times.
I have a couple of email addresses of staff that I can ask if this site is legit but its too late for that & when ordering it brings you back to the main vax site so I guess it is a good IT conartist or its legit.
It fits in with what they have done before but it is a very new domain name & I guess you can register a domain in anyones name.0 -
It is a legit sales promotion I know staff that work in there call centre at Droitwich hence how I found out about the sale, Apparenty it is open to staff family and friends first till the weekend. Then they think then it will be advertised to the general public. limited stocks yes end of line so I am told.0

I don't need a new vacuum at the moment & won't for a few years I guess.
I have been looking at the sold prices on Ebay & there is not enough margin there for me.
These are selling for just above what Vax are charging & after costs you would be lucky to walk away with a tenner.
Good deal if you need a vacuum though. Unfortunately I dont. Not Again0 -
Just a quick word of warning to anyone considering buying one of the pet hair bagless vacumn cleaner range from vax.
My personal experience (brought one in Feb) I would save your money no matter how cheap they seem to be now!
Mine has never picked up properly (only my hair off the carpet - I don't actually have any pets) and this is only because there is a non detachable brush built in - you could get same effect with a carpet sweeper!
Seriously there is no suction power on these hoovers even when bag empty and filter clean - have just binned mine because Vax weren't interested in honouring the guarantee - please don't buy one!
PS - I have heard that there carpet cleaners are still ok but I would never consider buying a Vax hoover
EDIT - the one I had was very similar to this

had vax too it was rubbish it was a pet one and we didnt even have a pet and it didnt pick up normal hair and dust.Lead short too so had to unplug every 5mins and move to another socket. Bought henry hoover few years ago and its superb cheap to buy and solid little man that my kids jump on and have rides as i hoover - great suction too and long lead. I was but dubious going back to bags after having a dyson and then the vax but needs emptied way less and bags huge and cheap.
Go team henry:j:j:j:j0 -
