Thank you very much. You'll get there. Just keep reading these boards - I always fell off the DFW wagon if I stopped reading....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I've just got my credit cards out of the freezer...there were 9  I thought at tops there were only 4. Next job will be to cancel them. There's no danger of spending on them - for one I don't know what the PINs are and 5 of them have expired..
Some of them I don't even remember applying for. It's not all bad though because I got £65 cashback just for applying for a couple of them
We're having a day in today which is most unlike us. It's very miserable out so we aren't missing much. I've got all the washing done and have just put the machine on a super hot wash to give it a clean out. The beds have been stripped and changed and I will get the bedding washed tomorrow when I've got some space to get it dry.
I've just ordered my nephew's xmas present online. ELC wanted £12 more than JL. Even with the £3 delivery charge it was worth ordering online from JL. I did toy with the idea of popping along to the shopping centre 8 miles away to get it but that just opens up temptation to spend more money besides the petrol costs would have been the same.
So that's another one off the list.
DD has just written out all her xmas cards :rotfl:
Meal plan
Saturday - HM chicken korma
Sunday - Trying out the new carvery
Monday - Risotto
Tuesday - At mum and dad's
Wednesday - HM spag bol from the freezer
Thursday - Salmon pasta
Friday - at mum and dads
Breaking news here - as I type it looks like 'the chavs' are moving out! There has been a transit van outside their house and loads of activity. DD has been keeping a lookout from my bedroom window and has reported that she can no longer see the bunk beds in the front bedroom (their poor daughter never had any curtains in her room...). Watch this space.......It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

There were. Next time you do that, you'll have to cut their little bits off before putting them all in together. That'll stop it happening again...DD has just written out all her xmas cards :rotfl:

A transit van outside of a house of charvas with loads of activity is often colloquially referred to as a "Police Raid". Anyone dressed in a hi-vis jacket?DD has been keeping a lookout from my bedroom window and has reported that she can no longer see the bunk beds in the front bedroom (their poor daughter never had any curtains in her room...).
Exhibitionism...Watch this space.......

What a windy night last night was! I had to close my window tight shut (usually have it on fingertips) as the wind was keeping me awake. I've had a quick look out the back, doesn't seem to be any damage.
Must get moving soon. I've actually been up since 7.30, so have bathed, washed hair and had breakfast. Got to bake some cakes this morning for dd's hostess badge at Brownies tomorrow. This morning is the only time we'll get to make them. Hope Brown Owl doesn't want to try one - they might be a bit dry by then....
We're going roller skating this afternoon so that's a good hour and a half's exercise then off to undo all the good work at the carvery :rotfl:I need to get some money out for the roller skating - should be £13 as we both have our own skates now. I think the carvery will be about £15. After that should only be about £5 spends this week on Brownie subs, some broccoli and some fabric conditioner
Off to clear up the kitchen, put face on, dry hair and get dressed before I start doing my [EMAIL="M@ry"]M@ry[/EMAIL] Berry bitIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Grrr...just spent ages typing a post and it's disappeared
Good news on the spends front yesterday. I took £40 cash out to pay for roller skating and the carvery. DD got a free skating pass because I'd just paid for her skates (early xmas prezzie) so I just had to pay for me - £6.50.
The carvery came to £17 for the 2 of us including drinks and tip. It was delicious though.
So I had £16.50 left. I took out £2.50 for dd's brownie subs, left £3 in my purse for [STRIKE]chocolate[/STRIKE] incidentals and put the remaining £11 in my money box :T
It's weird though - when working out my money I still look at the balance and think about rounding it down to make my PAD! Perhaps I should just start some savings up and do that instead
We had some bad news at work today. One of the supervisors died on Saturday night - he was 40 - the same age as me. He had some health problems but it's still no age. He has a daughter same age as my dd and a son of 4. Keep thinking of what kind of xmas his partner and children are going to have. When something like this happens it certainly puts everything into perspective..
Had dd's Brownie enrolment and it was really sweet. She recited the Brownie Law and Promise really loud and clear and got it word perfect. I was very proud of herIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Last night's pole class was just fab! We started off learning a dance (which we don't often do strangely enough). It was such good fun though. It was quite fast music, loads of different moves to remember and we were just laughing so much but talk about hard work!!!! My heart was going like the clappers when we stopped for a rest. Later on in the class I managed a move that has been my nemesis for ages so I left the feeling great, if a little bruised. I will really feel it tomorrow.
Tonight dd cleaned the bathroom for me :T All the while she's keen on it and regards it as 'fun' I'm going to take advantage of [STRIKE]her[/STRIKE] it
It was freezing here today and when i went out for a run at lunchtime it was raining as well - that horrible sleety type rainI cut my rain short and ran back to work..I didn't even break into a sweat
Tonight I entered a competition to win a pair of Rolling Stones tickets on the radio. Needless to say I didn't win but it was quite nice waiting to hear if it was me that won. I might enter a few more in future.
Not sure what to keep prattling on about now I've paid my debt off  spends today was 65p on a packet of cheesy biscuits, not very MSE because I usuallly buy a bag of 7 packets for 89p in A1di but I had nothing to dip in my houmous and I saved half the packet for tomorrow so was a little bit frugal.
I got a £5 M&S voucher in the post which I'd claimed from my petrol loyalty points. That will come in handy for something I'm sure.
Which reminds me I also put £40 petrol in the car but this has already been put by so I will transfer the money over from the car account later on.
I think that's it for now....still no sign of the chavs.......It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Tonight we had chilli and pasta for our dinner
I thought it was a spag when I took it out of the freezer :wall: Must label the containers in future :rotfl:It wasn't too bad though..
I had my fringe cut tonight, it cost me nothing but feels like a whole new cut (mainly because I can see again). Very MSE.
Spends today was £1.19 on cakes for dd to take into her school xmas fair tomorrow and 45p on a Daily Mirr0r with the voucher for £5 off a £35 A1di shop.
I think that's it for now...off to impart some of my DFW wisdom.....:DIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I've started a new diary - hopefully this is the link to it....
