  • I would like to write to anyone in the forces but not a bulletin board. How do you go about getting someone nominated to recieve mail on a regular basis? (I am a prolific letter writer, so more than one would be great.

Unless you have the details of a service person(s) out in Iraq or Afgan, you can not send a free letter! The only ways to get details are from a bulletin board, or you could send an email to the likes of The Sun or Soldier Magerzine, who would foward on your letter to a Unit out there!

Or you could visit http://www.arrse.co.uk/ (The Army Rumour Service).

If I was deploying any were soon I would pm you my details, as I loved getting letters during my 2 tours in Iraq!

You dont have to write via the 'bulletin board' on the yahoo group. When you join you will be able to view a list of about 25 people who are in the forces and looking for a penpal. I updated the list yesterday so it is very up to date!

Saeed, arnt you lucky you live in a country that has such freedom that you can speak your mind? The folk in Iraq did not have such freedom before the war started in 2003, and it is this freedom that our boys and girls are out there trying to maintain against the extreemests that would rather reenforce the lack of freedom! You are lucky you live in a country that has a 100% volunter armed forces, or you would find that you have been conscripted and sent to the same hell hole that our boys and girls are being sent!

Now get off your soap box! This thread is for ppl wanting to write to the soldiers that are fighting to give some other country the same freedoms you enjoy!
