Lauren, the same but the checks are dark red on mine. Tried to open your PM but firefox seems to not want me to. Drat.0

Having said that, there is a lot of beige background. Hoping it will dye navy.0

Hi Yorkshire
As you have had some great OS input and this has dropped down the board, I have moved it to the families board, to see if you can get more suggestions and ideas
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
thanks

That sounds like a great idea. Wish I'd thought of it- just re-found my sewing mojo but baby is not really using her buggy these days, not long until she's three! You should make a blog of your progress so we can all see how you are getting on!
Have you looked at specialist sewing fora such as http://www.sewmamasew.com/forum/ ? It's US based but they might have some ideas?0 -
Hi there. I don't know how to do a blog. I should learn, as I am now retired and have all the time in the world. Ha HA. Don't know how I had time to work. Have put all the covers in the washer with blck velvet dylon. Although the dark beige check is untouched, all the faded dark grey demin is great, and all the horrible dingy mucky white hood and apron insides are now nice and black. So the next stage is to find something hard wearing and funky that will go with the black denim trims. Not too thick so easy to wash and dry. Synthetic may be best as it is less likely to shrink, but I will prewash. Am going to use dark red piping to trim.. Am planning to leave the originals in place and cut and stitch new stuff to go over the top of the beige checks that baby's parents hate.0

Hello again. I have been to fave fabric shop and got myself some lovely very fine needlecord fabric. It has a little bit of polyester with the cotten to prevent shrinkage. Also a few metres of red cord with edge for piping with. Hoping that black denim trim (already there ), grey cord ( to cover the nasty checks), with red piping will be really smart. Cost me £7.50 and £15 for the pram so I think it is still a bargain. Make a start tomorrow. Will measure out on lining paer to make pattern, then cut, hem, and attach with piping. Fingers crossed. Lady at the fabric shop ( brill shop ) says lots of people are re covering prams rather than buy new.0

Can you sew a new cover on top of the old one, or unpick the old cover to use as a template for the new ones?0

I am going to try leaving the old one as it is and applying the new fabric on top. Some parts look quite nice in the black denim, and there is a lot of black binding to do if i totally remade them. I have washed them thoroughly, so I think it should be ok. Also should be much firmer having a base to work on. The hood will be easier than I thought, as it all comes off for washing, so no wres left in. A but of flexible stiffening, but I think it will be ok.0
