OK. Paying £30 with orange and have cancelled and got PAC code.
Plan is to get another contract via e2save (after redemption 99p a month) with orange.
Can I still use my PAC? Or someone said I might have to PAC to PAYG sim on another network first, then transfer in to orange?

As someone else has said you will have to transfer to another PAYG network and then back to Orange. If you don't do this then Orange won't see you as a new customer and the point of using the PAC would be to keep your existing number.Nearly debt free

So a PAC from Orange back to Orange wont be valid and they'll refuse?0 -

Might not bother now. Any idea if I cancel the pac code and just have the contract terminate 30 days from when I requested the code?
Or whats the bet they'll make me give 30 days notice from now again?0 -

By using the PAC you are terminating the contract, if you don't then the contract continues. You will have to call or write to cancel the contract not sure which applies currently with Orange. You're probably right that the 30 days will start from when you give them notice now.Nearly debt free

You may have had a contract through a re-seller and got a new contract with Vodafone direct or the otherway around.Nearly debt free

The only exception that I am aware of is o2 CPW to o2. Otherwise you cannot transfer your number to the same network. I have done this many times without a hitch - transfer to T-mobile, Orange or Virgin (they have always worked best for me in the past - also check as Virgin used to have £5 credit on their SIM, useful to cover the cost to customer services to request the PAC! - obviously Orange isn't much use for you! It should take 2 business days to transfer your number from one network to the other, same back so within five days you should be back (though there can be delays/technical hitches and customer servces can sometimes be funny, especially if you have just arrived!
Letting your PAC expire after 30 days means that your contract continues. Using your PAC is the same as giving notice to quite the contract. Phoning to cancel the PAC and giving notice means 30 days notice period starting again.

Looks like now I've got to use my PAC or it'll expire in 30 days. If I want to cancel my PAC, I've got to start my 30 days notice again.
They certainly dont make it easy do they?
OK. So I get my free sim. I take it I've got to top it up with a fiver to activate it first before I can PAC my number to it? Do I then just ring my new PAYG company and give them PAC code simple as that?0 -

AFAIK you don't have to top-up the free sim you have, you will have to register it and then in the same phone call (or you may be able to do it online) you give them the PAC code Orange gave you.
This way when you have used your PAC your contract will be cancelled and your number will be transferred to your free sim.Nearly debt free
