i agree with what you have said and about moving back to norway my only concern would be that the children are not at fault and should if they wish still be able to have a relationship with their father but you should also ask them what they would like to do

They would still be able to see there Father but he would have to make a bit of an effort which he isn't doing at the moment.

The op needs support & regular contact with the ex in order for her to work to provide for the children,

If he isn't willing to take responsibility for his children then at least if the op moved back to Norway she would have friends & family to help her out with childcare.

I'd threaten him with it at least, maybe it might make him pull his socks up & be a proper dad.
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

My husband was only allowed to have his children one saturday a month because his ex would not allow it. He would have loved to had his children nearly every weekend.

If you ex does not want to have them at certain times then is nothing that you can do to make him. And no amount of court orders etc can make him

Sadly the weekend Job has to go as you can't get child care and you can't rely on your ex having the children.

I would say get over to debtfree wanabee and put up a statement of affairs. And let them look over your spending.

If you are on a low wage do you get help with rent/council tax etc?

calleyw: i get the single adult discount on council tax. I will need to learn more about child support and glad to see there's a special section for this. I hope your ex will come to his senses.

No I mean Council Tax benefit. You have not said how much you earn.

But as you have children it will be a higher threshold then an lone adult.

Please do check with your local council for help with your rent and council tax.

    All the best.
