Nah, Sky News just said that it was the first time this has happened since Feb 2009, so it`s all under control. In fact, it can`t be big news, they only briefly mentioned it.

so a 0.6% fall folowed by a 0.9% fall. now maths was never my strong point but this must surely mean that the house price falls are acelerating. can some body plz check my maths. thanx0

Clearly, as the first fall was 0.5%! (Unless you are referring to the Halifax 0.6% rise).

Fair point, especially as it's in the title of this thread. I am deeply embarassed on behalf of Dirk, and hope that this does not reflect on the wider bear community. Many of us can count without using our fingers and some of our number have reached stage 2 reading. I do still have trouble with apostrophe's but after reading NDG's excellent "Fewer and Less - The History of Morons" I aim to improve on these thing's.Clearly, as the first fall was 0.5%! (Unless you are referring to the Halifax 0.6% rise).

Well its a bit like a three team relay . First you look at Nationwide -0.5, then you look at LR +0.4, then you look at Halifax +0.6, then you look at Nationwide -0.9.0 -
pimpers i tihnk you might be trying to confusr me with statistics cos you know my maths isnt very good you naughty boy. good on you though
but a 0.5% fall folowed by a 0.9% fall means house price falls are acelerating. im not wrong am i pimpers0 -

Do you think this thread will still be being bumped in 2033?
It's for last month, there are new even better statistics for you to "capture your imagination" in the August thread:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
