I've just thought - I don't keep track of how many NSDs I usually have, so might look back and then set a target to try and increase them.

  • I've made a good start to the month with 2 nsd's! Family keep saying we need this and we need that-i've told them that my shopping day is going to be wednesday! I've also put £100 in my purse to keep this weeks spending on track-no cards allowed as it is so easy to spend more than intended on cards.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

Was away for the weekend so unfortunately had to spend :-(

Today however has been an NSD...my first of the month. I've picked courgettes, patty pan squash, turnips, strawberries and mangetout from the garden this evening. The mangetout and courgettes are currently in the dehydrator. I'm preserving the harvest :-)

Yesterday foraged for blackberries and came home today with 4lb which are now in the freezer. Yay for free food!

  • Did a BIG shop at A*da today & was impressed only £55.89 and that was including H's baccy:mad:

Aiming to use up stuff from the freezer this month & then start to stock up with real essentials, sounds odd but really wanting to be prepared for winter this year (we got snowed in for 2 weeks in Feb!)

    Off to update my sig..;)

  • Hi all
my budget for the month is £160 and so far I've spent £43 at waitrose. I felt like a change from tesco and coop and to be honest if you careful what you buy i think it is good value and that bit nicer.......

Anyway bought mince (split into 3 bags for freezer) sausages -nice ones. Some sea bass - reduced, mince pie, chicken portions, thia green curry soup - lovely with rice as a proper meal! Plus fruit and veg and basics. I also got some nice desserts and stocked up on soft drinks and cat food etc.

Got enough in until weekend so more or lesson target.

    Good luck everyone

Hello folks, hope you are all doing well. Have done not too bad so far, Mondays spend was £10.80 which was rolls from the bakers for the freezer the rest of the week, and we had a quick fish supper for tea as we were getting people in at quarter to seven, which we didnt know about. To offset the cost of this I have frozen the steak pie we were suppose to be having for another night. This is taking my total up to £223, but cupboards are full and should only need milk at the weekend and no cleaning things or tins/store cupboard items until the end of the month.
Hope you all have a good day,
    Suz

Had a NSD yesterday, taking DD and her friend to the safari park today though. Taking a packed lunch though:money: Will need to stop at the shops on the way back though for cheese/milk, thought i had more in than i do. Shouldn't need to spend too much though.
