Spent £20.20 on Friday between T*sco and B&M and then went to greengrocers and spent £12. 87 on fruit and veg. This included some plums but only brought 4 in case they were not nice - however will be going back in next day or two for some more as they so juicy and sweet.
Got given a few potatoes today from a neighbours garden , a lettuce and also a cucumber :Tso while the oven was on I made a sponge cake and sandwiched it together with the last of some home made lemon curd to give them. :A They were delighted. I shall have to get some more lemons next shopping day and make some more. None of us really like the shop brought ones but home made is delicious and so easy.
Have just got some chicken thighs out of freezer and will be doing something like Spanish chicken in the slow cooker tomorrow and hopefully left overs to freeze for another day.
DS brought a Chinese take away for him and his girlfriend last night and said it was horrible and they left most of it. He said next time he would get me to make one and take it with him. !!! Ha sometimes you cant help but feel smug can you.:rotfl::rotfl:
Off to update totals now and then to post meal plan for next week on the appropriate thread.
Good luck everybody, keep smiling but don’t keep spending.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Hello all I'm new on here.
Not too sure how we will get on, but think we will try for £100 (USAGI) for 2 of us...we have a fair bit in the freezer & cupboard and also the allotment for fresh.
Hopefully we will come in under this as we have very expensive month in September, off to a family wedding / our holiday abroad.
Looking forward to browsing all the tips on here x0 -
instance, MrT have sent me three vouchers for £5 off three consecutive £50+ spends. There's no way I want to spend that much and so if the date for use passes I don't care because I've only spent what I NEED to spend not what they WANT me to spend.
Given my entire monthly grocery budget isn't much over £100 (and will be halving from September when DS moved out for Uni), with milk bought from A!di and lots of bread/pies/meat/yoghurt bought as Whoopsies from Mr M (where I work, so I also get a 10% discount there) there's no way I spend £50 in either Mr T or Mr A (and probably not the two combined) in an entire month.
So those emails get deleted as soon as they come in......Cheryl0 -
Please can you put me down for a WEEKLY TOTAL of £1200

First day of the challenge for me, and I woke up in a panic about how I'll manage. :rotfl:I just know that all through work today I'll be daydreaming about chips and chocolate, and I have to walk past the supermarket to get to my car after work. Never mind, I have a plan. I will withdraw my money after work, and once it's in my hand I'll be filled with resolve!0

Morning
Spent about £10 locally yesterday on fruit, potatoes, pasta, milk, marg and 3 pks of skinless sausage which the C*-op are selling for £1 at the moment.
As I mentioned I also got tempting emails from T*sco involving extra points for 3x£50 shops but yesterday did my Tuesday delivery with A*da.
I spent about £40 but at the end they offered me free delivery if I spent £50! So I did.
But this morning I thought noooo! That's what T*sco were trying to do:mad: So I've hacked away at the shop only getting things I really need as I should be aiming at their minimum (£25) rather than letting them push me into spending another £10 of 'just in case' purchases. I got it down to about £29. I might take up this offer later in the month but I'm trying not to spend too much too soon and have a real use-up week this week.
The menu is going to be a bit basic in the Franby household this week but I'm happy!! Off to make some bread and biscuits!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Hi everyone, just confirming my new monthly budget is £450 please Mrs M. We will be on holiday for one week but DD1 is staying at home for most of the time so I will need to get food in for her to eat while we are away. Then we have visitors staying after that, so I hope that this increase will cover the extras. Not going in the right direction I know - but it's better to try to control it I think rather than just throw money at it!
May not be able to post much this month either - but I will try to keep up -promise! Good luck everyone.

Morning all!
Was just sat here working out what else needs to be done today and waiting for Mr. A delivery ...... checked over the email from them to see if I'd ordered milk and realize they're not coming until tomorrow :rotfl:
Ahh, the joys of getting old and being clueless
So, short of a dire emergency today will be a NSD!0 -
