Spent about £23 in Co-op today. Only really went in for dishwasher tablets, but here were lots of bargains in there! Need to use up freezer stuff too as it needs defrosting (can hardly shut door). It does seem to get iced up very quickly for some reason.0

Today was my son's birthday and he asked me to make lasagne. I already had all the ingredients in so i made a meat one and a veggie one. Then i took the lasagnes and children to my parents so we could all eat together. We sang 'Happy Birthday' before tucking into the lasagne as my son has turned into a health nut and won't eat cakes, biscuits or anything with sugar in. Saved me a few bob i suppose. It's my Mum's birthday on Friday and so me and DD are making a cake for her so we will finally get some cake! LOL!
An NSD today too i'm pleased to report!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I also went to the co op today & came out with far, far more than I intended! I only wanted potatoes but managed to spend £24! On one hand I was pleased with my many bargains. I got 5 lemons 60p, 5 nectarines 60p, pork kebabs 90p for 4 (got 3 packets), bag of mini salad 30p, raw king prawns 75p, a mango 52p, 2 haddock fishcakes 51p, a coconut sponge 70p and a bag of spinach 40p. But and for me its a BIG but, did I really need any of it?! No wonder I never meet my target! I read the advice about making a list and sticking to it but never seem to carry it through! (Also got some crisps, cookies and chocolate bars and some whoopsied veg.)
Wasn't planning to bake tomorrow but now thinking what am I going to do with 5 lemons and also could someone tell me whether I can freeze the bag of spinach as it is or do I need to boil it for a minute or two first?
Thanks

Hi everyone
Had my first food spend of the month which came to £49.49 from Mr T. This month is usually hard as children are not at school/nursery and they tend to eat more snacks and drink more juice etc.
Hope everyone has a good month.

I usually follow Delia's recipe (I can't link, but if you google it,it appears on the delia online website with Toad in the Hole), it looks a bit long but is really tasty. Make double & freeze it for another time.
I did badly on Sunday and spent £8 on stuff we didn't really need from co-op, but did the weekly shop for £11 yesterday so doing ok (that even included a bottle of wine) since we have a lot of stuff in so just a few extras.
Hopefully won't need to spend again this week, have to avoid going past the shops!
Just off to work out how to do the signature thing...0
