I need a oil and filter change, which is taking place next week, However, I was wondering if anyone can recommend the cheapest place for me to get the Oil, failing which the garage will get it AT COST.

I need 4.5 litres of 5w-15w engine oil, a good qulity one too ;)

I also need a oil filter, for a Ford Mondeo 2.5 V6 Automatic on a 2000 plate.

Any advice please :)

Euro car parts website for the oil filter. 5w-15 oil isn't something I've heard of. Closest I can find is 5w-20 http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-651-5w-20.aspx

I need 4.5 litres, meaning I can't just buy one bottle as I need another 500 ml grrrrrrrrr

Any ideals and the cheapest place to get it??

Also, Euro Car parts, how long for delivery?
Can they deliver it to my garage??

Before ordering anything, I would check what oil you need. Call a dealer and ask, or any good motorist discount store should be able to advise. Probably 5-40 or something near, cant remember what mine took.

Think mine takes it so thin because its a V6 DuraTec engine??

I have a small bottle what i brought ages ago that I will check tomorrow.

I have had a price of £50 for 5 litres of oil, but I was hoping for this to be a little cheaper being this is Money Saving after all ;) LOL

    Perhaps £30-£40 ?? :o
Or am I asking to much??

I have NEVER paid £50 for 5 litres of oil, and I have had some strange/exotic cars. Try partco, or some /any other discount store apart from hellfords and you should end up getting it for less than that. Its an old car, so I would not be spending a fortune on oil.

Okay I will have a look around at the weekend.

I will say, Ford main dealership have always done my oil change and filter for £30, but after 6 months of using the oil in there, I'm pretty sure, like everyone has siad to others on here, it has to be the cheapest cr*p around, so I'm not going there again!

After a bit dig around, it looks like you need 5W30 semi-synth.

If they are willing to do an oil/filter change for £30, I personally would go for it, not worth getting my hands dirty for that much!
