A&L sort code?

Actually, A&L previously had a service where A&L transfers could take up to a day. All Santander to Santander transfers are immediate, so you'll notice an improvement in the service once migrated.
I did notice that, and I'm sure it would be a marvellous improvement if only I could actually send money from my current accounts through on-line banking - but in common with many customers, I can't.0 -
A&L told me there was a fix in the system so the old sort codes would work for now, I'm going to wait until my last payment of this period goes in Wednesday then I'm going to start informing everyone of the new code.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

well as i said above, the money was always immediate until this recent migration, now its not, which is in stark contrast to what you are saying, so i have NOT noticed an improvment in service. do you work for them?0 -
What may happen is that the first transfer to each payee will go the slow way - future ones will be faster payments0

well i have automatic transfers monthly into the said savings accounts. when i went in to look the other night (after reading this thread), the balance was the amount it should have bene because of the payment in, but the available balance was not, hence the proof of delay. my savings account has never had this before.
because i needed the money back out into my current account, i took the money back by transfer. so the same thing then occured in my current account, balance was correct, but available balance was short by the money i had just transferred.
i'll wait and see what happens in the future then0 -

It's not quite as clear cut as that though in my experience.
6 exact Payments to account X so far. Payments 1,3 and 6 via BACS, 2,4 and 5 via FP.
4 exact payments to account Y so far. Payments 1 and 4 via BACS, 2 and 3 via FP.
All amounts identical and under the threshold to the same organisation. Seems to me very hit and miss and random as to when it will work.
My second complaint after migration is currently in their system.0 -

But both your accounts won't have been migrated over the same day, savings accounts are taking a while longer, so your accounts are on two different systems. Hence 'once you've been migrated'.0 -
Please note I tried to use the new sort code etc when my account merged earlier last month with my mortgage payments.
I got a letter back saying this sort and account number cannot take direct debits
Bad A&L0 -

Fair enough, but will Santander inform all the companies we already pay by DD of the sort code change, or are we supposed to contact them ourselves to change them before the old codes are 'switched off'?0 -
I used the old sort code to try to initiate a direct debit at my gym but it's been rejected twice now.
Will offer the gym the new sort code tomorrow to see if that makes any difference.
Embarrassing and very frustrating. Terrible.0
