Evening all :j
Finally time for an update.. Holiday was good.. We met some great people on our way up to Scotland..We stopped over outside Edinburgh, and got a guided tour of the area, and even managing the deep fried Mars bar challenge..
The place we hired was good but the village it was in was pretty much in the middle of nowhere.. The nearest Tesco was 98 miles away..No mobile network whatsoever.. Suffice to say, we never made it that far.. So we pretty much lived out of the local eateries all week long (not good for the pocket but good for the soul)..
A few trips outside, like whale watching and walks around the coast, but the majority of the time was spent pretty much doing nothing.. We watched a fair few Wimbledon games too..
An 8H30 trip back has got us both knackered, and we are glad to still have tomorrow off together and OH is also off on Tuesday..
Glad to be back home now.. Food shopping done (thanks to OH), Elvis has been picked up from the cattery... Nice to spend the day in the sunshine.. Also managed to mow the lawn..
Nice surprise from VO, my surveys have updated and i ordered a £10 M&S voucher for my Mum so she can treat herself next time she visits.. Also sold a DVD on Amazon (despite telling them I was on holiday ) Hope the buyer does not mind the delay..
Am now off to cook a lovely tea for Princess & I..
Hope all is well with everybody.. It was very nice to come back to so many messages..

Hey Froggy,
Looks like you had a good holiday, what was the weather like that far up North?

Weather was quite good actually.. No rain as such, a bit of drizzle but no torrential downpour, just fine weather..
Just caught up on your diary and can see that the windows are coming along nicely.. Am sure you will be glad when its all over..

Glad you enjoyed Bonnie Scotland
Good to have you back!0 -
Welcome back! I'm glad you enjoyed Scotland Froggy, and who needs Tesco anyway? When my children were quite small (25 years ago ) we holidayed in Scotland for three idyllic years, self -catering. Well, who wants to cook on holiday?
When we did, we had lots of local treats like Arbroath Smokies, and the kids loved having high tea in a hotel with the big cake stands coming out after the main meal. Happy, happy times.
Has Elvis forgiven you for abandoning him? My brother is putting his two VERY spoiled Birmans into a cattery for the first time soon. The Lord help the cattery staff....Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
mcculloch I have Birmans and I can assure you that they will be extremely disappointed that your brother thought he could go on holiday and leave them at the cattery! They will remind him that they take precedence over any holiday!0

I'm not familiar with Birmans but I take it they elevate feline aloofness to another level?0

That is one way of putting it! They are beautiful and they know it, and you will never quite be good enough. One of mine looks down on us because we are not Birmans:D They certainly have an enviable life;)0 -

Elvis is fine, thanks.. He does not mind the cattery too much.. He only goes there about once, maybe twice a year.. He is glad to be back home, but suffered a bit with the heat.. Lots of sleeping and not doing much since he has been back home..

Welcome back!:)
edit:
Whereabouts did you go that was far out ? Did you manage to get up to John O Groats? I was so shocked when we went there as I was expecting something..anything..but no just some extremely run down closed hotel and a card shop. We went all over Scotland in the car and it was one of the best time of our lives. Oh to be free like that again! I hope you had a relaxing time and got charge to recharge yourselves.
I've never tried the deep fried mars bar - I do believe some places down our way do them though!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0
