A Payment A Day - Part 9

pooh_bear17 wrote: »Hi, have just read about this in the weekly email and would like to try and join in if thats ok. Have been reading some of the old posts - what a great idea and so many of you have done so well. Hoping to have got into the spirit of things by paying off £20 to my store card and putting 3p in my penny jar, found by scraping in purse! = £20.03
I'm only around £100 in debt on a store card but have some big payments coming up at the end of January for my wedding in April, done a quick calculation and its around £1664 I need which will otherwise go on a credit card, so every penny saved now is less debt going on there.
i'm imagining I might only get around to posting once a week or so with a weekly total...
A question - how do people decide how much money to put in each day? / Do you have any inventive ways of finding money to put in, rather than it just being transferred from bank account?
Am already imagining the 1p and 2p coins I occasionally find at the school I work at, and the occasional payments I get from Topcashback, all going in... Would be lovely to hear your ideas!
Yay!! Our first recruit from the email
How you PAD is entirely up to you...thanks for putting the amount in colour though - one of our only "rules" is that you post in colour, bold, large type or all of the above so our counter-upper for the month (this month it's the lovely Paulgonnebedebtfree) can see the amount easily.
I personally only count money I PAD from my bank account because when I put money in tins I dip into it and spend it. For me, if I can't touch the money it's not spendable. Do whatever works for you.
I count:
Money from my bank account
Quidco money (Topcashback if you prefer)
Money made from Ebay
Money made from Amazon
People PAD in lots of different ways, all of them perfectly fine. If you want to post a weekly total that's great. I post every day because otherwise I would forget
Welcome to the club.....the other rule is that once you join you're a PADder so you can't leave :rotfl:0 -
Hmmm...I'm only up half an hour earlier than usual, but it feels like the middle of the night

Welcome pooh_bear
Everyone PaDs differently, I try to put a regular amount off a debt using online banking, but also round down the bank account, round down shopping and put quidco etc. money in.
Some people include regular payments, others don't.
It's up to you, but once you start, you can never leave. There's been a few people on here who are now debt free, the most recent being flyin_fresian, many stay around and PaD to savings.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning all!
Welcome Pooh_Bear *waves*
No PAD for me today im afraid Paul. I went a bit overboard in the pound shop yesterday (that doesnt even sound possible does it but it is) and now I have just £20 to feed a family of 6 for a week. I wouldnt mind but I have nothing in because I used it all up last week so I could defrost the freezer and organise the cupboards :rotfl:
I feel an old style challenge coming along:D
Back tomorrow when I have debits coming out.
Well done eveyone on making the newsletter

Morning everyone,
Welcome pooh_bear17 and any other newbies who follow, I haven't had the email yet - though I find there are many times it doesn't make it into my inbox.
My PAD for today is £10.20 to Tcc - I need to keep some money in the a/c as OH has driven off to work (75 miles) on fresh snow with more forcast (over the foot of ice on our side road) so I'm rather hoping he decides to stay over in a hotel.
Off to dig out the car again.......0 -
£23 from me. That overdraft is currently getting a hammering.
Ah well. Can't be helped.0 -
The Tuesday PADs added up to£870.94
Decent going for a Decembrrrrrrrrrr I reckon0 -
