    Hi all

    Hope everyone is OK !!

Well today I have a big PAD to make - but first a little background.

I disappeared for a few months earlier in the year as my Dad sadly passed away. Lots to sort out etc etc and I was executor and head of the family dealing with everything. Now a few months later I am fortunate (but in a sad way) that his estate has been settled and I have received some money. Just enough to get myself a deposit for a small flat when I can get a mortgage sorted - he would have been pleased with that.

I have thought [STRIKE]long and hard[/STRIKE] agonised for a week about my loan - £9k left - and whether it would be right to use some money to pay this off. I have decided the interest saved (about £1k) by paying now and the fact that most of it was run up for study and works commuting whilst a trainee means it's OK to do so and he would have been OK with that. Reading someone else's similar story on one of the threads also convinced me. So today I went to HSBC and settled in full...

    PAD is therefore £8,081.05

I am not paying off the B'card and will PAD my wages to finish this one off. That was silly money I used for clothes, holidays etc. But not far to go now.

So I'll be debt free at the end of the month and ready to move into the wacky world of trying to buy my first place!! I know he'd have been pleased with that.

Rest assured I will be sticking around on this super thread and saving. I can't shirk my September counting duty can I?

Thanks guys for reading my big long ramble !! Just needed to write stuff down....

    Have a wicked day all.

Hi afternoon everyone, I'm not going to moan, and I'm not going to rant, but my builder has just phoned to tell me that I owe him another £500, so my pad for this week is curtailed significantly, to £150 to loan . Now I am going to moan, last month I paid an extra £1000 of this loan, so it is just under £6000, and when I rang for a balance I find they have taken £350+ in interest:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:.
The sooner I can get this paid the better.

    Hi everybody :)

Andy, sorry to hear about your dad - I'm sure he would be very pleased that you are being so sensible with the money!

I've finally gone through my spreadsheet and am padding a grand total of £223.33 to various things, made up of a mixture of loose change and minimum and additional payments.

I need to go and update my sig now I think :o then I am going to have a play with my spreadsheet and see how much else I can afford this month :)

    xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

    Hi guys,

Sorry I am so late with yesterdays total but I had to take hubby to A&E this morning as he had hurt his arm. So today has been rather manic for me. Anyway have just finished doing Shred so am rather tired but have got tomorrow off, yay!

Right then, yesterdays total = £890.30
I won't say anything as I have seen the size of some of todays pads

My pad today is still a tiny £1 but heck it's better than nothing :D

Will post more tomorrow but in the meantime have a good evening all - I am off to bed!

p.s forgot the special mentions (naughty Booby!). Special mentions for yesterday go to LondonAndy, Jwil and Tenmah :T
