  • Just £1 PAD for me today to the dreaded overdraft.

My sympathy's (sp) go to the parents who are having problems with sleep deprivation even though i was quite lucky with both of my boys i still remember the first 5 months or so of no sleep it's not pretty!
Don't think i'm being patronising but have you spoken to your GP and Social services?
They Can be of real use. My son had a problem with head banging from 8 months to 14 Months and i found they both offered differing advice, but i asked a local social worker to visit me and even though the tecniques they suggested were quite difficult to start with the problem was sorted out within 14 days. They were very supportive and helpfull.
My friend spent the first 3 years of her two childrens life in a sleep deprived state and wishes now that she wen't to the GP earlier.
Ignore me if you have already been down these routes but i thought it was worth mentioning.

    Hi Loulou,

My 2 were really good until a few nights ago so I'm not used to this...DD slept through the night from about 3 weeks and the wee man wasn't much longer - they've both slept roughly 12hrs each night since then.

What happened with the head banging?

Apparently, some of the people who recieved a flu jag last winter are showing signs of insomnia...not that I'm a paranoid parent but they both had jags

No Pad sadly but thought id come commisserate with all the other Mummies suffering lack of sleep.
I havnt had a full nights sleep in 3 and a half years between my 3 and 2 year olds :(
Youngest is 2 next month and has NEVER slept through the night

Just biding my time now till theyre teenagers and payback will be mine mwahahahaha :rotfl:

    Mumof4 xx

No necessarily Mumof4! - according to my mum I never slept as a baby, in fact she admitted that she would have got pregnant again sooner if it wasn't for how horrible I was... I have been an insomniac all my life and when I was a teenager I used to wander round all night cleaning, hoovering, putting washing on, and generally pi$$ing everyone off :o But my mum couldn't argue because I was being helpful lol :rotfl:

These days I'm lucky to get 3/4 hours a night and I couldn't be doing with sodding kids getting in the way of those precious hours, and I will soooo get the kid I deserve after putting my mum through all that! Can't see the rewards in having children myself although I'm sure I'll have to put up with parenthood at some point :p

Andy your savings must be growing like mad! Well done you! Just 50p for me today, not a massive contribution to the total sorry.

Hope you are all enjoying your friday night, I'm watching the last ever Big Brother *sob*!

    xx

  • Just noticed new mum that you are taking the social work course at uni i'm hoping to do that myself next year. I'm doing an access course at the moment and hoping to get at least 2 work placements within the next month to increase my chances of getting on the course. Apparently my local Uni favour mature students who have relevent life and voluntary experience many times over school leavers with similar grades.

Oh it's gotta be Brian! Don't mind Chantelle but really she did nothing but cry and moon over Preston, Brian was really entertaining and always has been I reckon. But then the first 3 series were my favourites, I was obsessed!!
