Gravy/sauce to go with gammon

I've got some gammon to boil tonight, and sweetcorn and new potatoes to go with it.
Has anyone got any idea about a gravy or sauce I could make to go with it? Normally we would have cheese sauce, but we had macaroni cheese last night ....

  • I would do a bread sauce or onion sauce with gammon because it's so salty. Not very os I know, but dare I say a packet mix from Morrisons for about 39p?

I cooked a gammon joint yesterday in the slow cooker, and was going to have it tonight with wedges and baked beans.

However, have been down to the allotment and pulled some potatoes so have changed dinner to gammon, potatoes and cabbage. I will have to do a sauce, but not sure what. Not sure about gravy, and think I have heard somewhere about gammon and parsley sauce, or have I imagined it

Anyone got any suggestions - I threw away the stock off the joint, I know, I'm stupid :o:

Yes, parsley sauce is a traditional accompaniment to gammon.
