Is it possible for everyone to save money?

If you only spend a small amount each week, is it still possible to save money?
If you only buy a travel pass and the odd Sandwich, I do not see how it is possible to save money.

Assuming you have your student loan of £4000 a year, and work part time, say 10 hours a week for £6 an hour thats £76 a week and £60 = £136 a week. We'll assume rent in student digs is £50 a week and elec/TV/gas/water amounts to £25 a week thats £75 a week leaving £61 a week left over.
£15 for food, £5 for buses £5 for "the odd sandwich" =£25 leaving £36 a week to save!
This could be increased if you receive any grants, parents contribute to accomodation, or work more hours. If you pay your own rent and don't qualify for any grant you have a strong chance of getting help from the Access to Learning Fund.0 -
I save 10% by standing order each month.
If you don't see it, you can't spend it.
I'm also quite generous as I have enough to live on and some of my friends scrape by.
It also helps that I've now started doing matched betting! Although the aim is to earn enough to pay off my overdraft at some point in my lifetime.0 -
