Hi, No we havent gone over our overdraft since two years ago and have had no returned dds either. We have a poor credit rating from a few years ago, set up our own business that didnt do too well and we got into trouble paying bills etc. Nothing major, defaulted on some payments etc, but apart from one, which i am paying monthly now, there is nothing outstanding. And certainly (apart from income reducing) nothing has changed recently as far as that side of things is concerned. I have nothing on credit, no cards etc, and no loans.

It could be something to do with a deposit you have made and they may think you are money laundering. Hopefully you will know tomorrow.

He' off again - PC Kent - the situation we are in now is not the one we were in when we had our first 4 children, and when we decided to have our last. We have had a healthy bank balance, and have lived to our means, not anything else, and have never asked anyone for anything. No one knows when ill health will occur and we thought we were financially stable enough to cope - who has thousands put away for this type of situation????? You are obviously a very small minded man and thrive on putting people down - good for you i hope its made you feel better. I am not the scrounger you are trying to portray me to be, i am at university studying Law, and like I said before we are a hard working family, you are coming across as a complete loser.

I wouldnt explain yourself, no need.

If anyone's getting annoyed at Plod's comments - simply click the red triangle at the bottom right of his posts, rather than commenting on his abuse and giving him the attention he so dearly craves.

Banks are not allowed to take benefits. It is there for people to live on. That is the law. (and theory)

It's not that black and white: http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/+/http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page16882

It wouldnt surprise me if the bank takes it. Money is money.

I would complain in writing and argue the case though.

    Nearest thing to sarcasm lol

And it is not wrong. The bank is not surprosed to 'have benefit money'.

It is good advice to put your benefit money with a bank that you have no debt with.
