This kind of thing is why I will never have a PayPal account - ever!

If you can't trust yourself do we assume you don't have bank accounts or any form of savings accounts either? Maybe the internet should be avoided as well as it is so easy to press the wrong button.

I will deliberately avoid the assumption that you are simply having a pop and answer you properly.

The part I object to with PayPal is that fact that they can just dip into your bank account and take money out if someone else tells them there is a problem. I will never give anyone the right to do that to my bank account thanks.

I don't buy from Ebay so it isn't a big loss really. The shops I use take normal payments and the odd American purchase has been made through WorldPay as a one off.

    Regards,

    T

This thread though concerns money sent by someone as a gift, if you sent money from your bank account the bank won't just give it back to you if you tell them it was a mistake.

I can see nowhere in the thread where OP has claimed that paypal are taking money from him without his consent? Therefore if you wouldn't use paypal because they won't return money sent by someone as a gift then you shouldn't be using bank accountss as they operate the same system. If you send money to a complete stranger through worldpay after confirming on the screen that you accept this cannot be recalled as it is going as a gift, would you expect them to give you the money back later if you claim it was a mistake?

I wasn't talking about the thread in that post I was explaining to you why I don't use PayPal. There are just too many problems with it. This thread is just one example but there are many more. There is no comparison between internet banking and PayPal.

What a strange post. They usually make at least some sense to the casual observer. This one is a complete mystery.
