  • Hi,

good that's you sorted, plus you get a bit of extra height with the 2m.

Don't know your age, so apologies if got it wrong, but B&Q do a pensioners discount on a Wednesday I think, think you need to sign up for a card in store.

Haha, with a bit of dressing up maybe, but no, only 31. :)

Can't wait to get it up! LOL (that sounded wrong but you know what I mean).
  • Hi,

    sorry. :o

Well at least, if they say anything, you can say you checked with council and height was ok.

Oh well, batter on, all we need now is a good bit of sun and you can get out and enjoy it in private.

    Good luck.

Hi - bit late now but yes its 2m or 6ft6 in old money before planning is required

I bought some 1.5m Willow screening recently and found searching online worked out cheaper if you are getting a few lengths (could have worded that better ;) )

Only problem with this stuff is that it will weather and is not a real long term solution because of that.

Youcan get fence post extension kits (google it) to put trellis or larger fence panels in if you wish and providing your existing posts are strong that should be structurally sound enough. May need to paint concrete posts dark brown to blend in though if going this route

Sunshinetours: yes found it cheaper on 'Primrose London' but only by about 3/4 quid a bundle and we only need a few so might just get it from B&Q for ease..

How quickly did you find it weathered, and weather in what way?? A google picked up that you can treat it annually with something but I'm not sure how much it would help?

    Not very MSE ;)

We had bamboo covering before round some fencing and within 2 years it was looking a bit tatty. The wind and rain can take their toll as its only thin bits of wood

You probably could treat the wood with some sort of preserve which may well help but that won't stop general wear and tear I wouldn't think

May be do it that way for now and save up for some proper fencing to be done when your other fencing ages a bit more?
