i have uninstalled the virgin security and it does not show in add remov programmes but the firewall is still there:mad:
i have phoned virgin who say they can help if i pay!! as it was there security that let 77 virus's in i really dont see why i should pay them to help me get rid of their software !!0 -
untick use a proxy, and test IE.
Then run a FULL scan with malwarebytes (after updating) if you haven't already, let it deal with anything it finds, then post a hijackthis log!!

thanks, phoned virgin again and it was something to do with proxy settings!! all working now:D
however the virgin tech guy told me its impossible for the firewall to still be there even tho i am sitting here looking at the security centre telling me its there and turned on!! so he had no idea how to get rid of it0 -
See previous post, you probably still have traces of the infection.
Not sure which version of VM security you have, but you could try this removal tool
