I recently had a nasty virus and i have had this removed (along with 76 other viruses!!) and i have removed the virgin internet security and installed avast anti virus, however i cannot connect to the internet although i can receive emails, so i know the connection is working.
After uninstalling VM security the windows security centre still shows that the VM firewall is still there and turned on and i can not figure out how to get rid of this as all the VM stuff has been un-installed!!
Does anyone have any ideas as i am thinking that somehow the VM firewall could be blocking my internet connection ??
Thanks

Hi,
have you had a look in control panel > programmes, or task master?0 -
Download and install Erunt http://www.snapfiles.com/get/erunt.html and back up your registry (it's better than MS restore). Boot into safemode and type into Search VM or the proper name of security suite and delete all that comes up. Type into Run regedit and navigate HKEYS_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/VM, and delete entries. Reboot. If you've cocked up the registry just reboot into safemode and use Erunt to go back to previous registry.0

Hi,
sorry, I meant task manager, right click on task bar, you could also have a look at start up, to see what's in there.0 -
