Try a bit of clear nail varnish in the croc, duct tape is so common :cool:

With regards to milking the injury, shove a huge plaster over the pinprick and elevate your foot on the settee until the works are nearly completed..

Already done.....twas one of those strips you cut to size....I didn't bother cutting it. :D

Actually for all I'm joking, the underneath of my foot has swollen and I can't walk on it now, it's too painful.

aliasojo? how far did the nail penetrate do you think?
puncture wounds dont look much but can be quite serious if untreated especially if it was an old nail and the environment was 'dirty'!
if it penetrated more than just a surface scratch then please get yourself off to A&E! I know, I know it feels stupid for an injury so small - but penetrating wounds need treating!
better now than leaving it until it causes a problem!

just read your above post aliasojo - get yourself down to A&E! now! if its swelling then it may be infected.
you can drink the rest of the alcohol when you get home! by which time you will need it!

It felt like an inch but if I stop exaggerating for a minute...........I have no idea? It was pretty stuck and I had to pull to get it out.

It really was a clean nail though, I'd hammered it in myself only around 2 years ago.

Oh my. Maybe infection will get me an extra few days on the couch though? :think:

I'm going to soak it in hot salted water for a while and see if it eases off. Can't do much now anyway as I've had 3 drinks and OH isn't in at the moment so it's the salt and the savlon for company.

Appreciate the concern though, thank you. I will do something if it feels like it's getting worse. I only did it a short while ago so maybe this is just the initial reaction.

must be the day for it my 5 year old had a dirty great nail stuck in the bottom of his BRAND NEW shoes, luckily it was older than time itself and didnt go in straight !

Definitely get your self off to A&E if it is becoming very painful & swollen, & if old nail, it is very unlikely your OOH GP will carry tetanus vaccine , if you don't do this make sure you contact your GP tomorrow am!!! We're all going to get in trouble for giving medical advice now....opps!!
