  • Try maximising the window, hold down the control button, and click the X to close the window.

  • Open window, resize to full screen. press F5 key, close window, reopen window.

    Does that work?

First you have to be clear about what you are talking about...

Are you talking about internet windows IE6 for example

or are you talking about looking at your hard drive directories and stuff C:\Windows etc.

I think you are on about internet so I'll go with that........and I'll assme you're on IE browser

First if you have on your desktop the screen you see when you start windows at the bottom or top of the page a bar with some program icons on. Right click on the IE icon, select properties.....you should see it say Run... select from the drop down "maximised" click apply then ok and close it.

Next open internet browser we will call this internet window 1 it should be maximised.

Now open a link in another window this will be a smaller window (which is annoying you) put the mouse to the corner of the window till the diagonal arrows appear stretch the window to fit the screen as it would if it were maximised...do not maximise the window, just stretch it & reposition it and stretch it again until it fits the screen. This is internet window 2.

close internet window 1 (the 1st maximised window) using the x in top right corner
close internet window 2 (the 2nd stretched window) same method

open IE again 1st window will stil be maximised

open a new window link it should now be "fit screen" size.
  • I sympathis with the OP. My computer has random times when it opens all windows as 3/4 size and then other times opens them at full screen size.
    Happy chappy
