• Easyjet still giving me the'ATC' brushoff. Can any of those who have been promised compensation give me their booking ref ?? Email me on aomell@aol.com PLEASE !!!! thanks
• Just received a call from Easyjet saying they had 're-investigated', the case................paying compensation...........

Still a bit cheesed off with the whole affair...............them trying to weasle out of it.

No great advise to others who are still getting brush off............ just keep on at Easyjet Customer Contempt line, and complain to Bristol airport. I have also registered a complaint with the EU airline authorities .....auc.org.uk.

I am also waiting for a response from CEO Carolyn McCall, who has so far not even acknowledged my emails...........she will be getting my emails on a weekly basis until I get a response. (carolyn@easyjet.com)
• When I had problems with easyjet late last year I wrote directly to Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou at easyGroup. While he is no longer involved in the day-to-day running of easyjet he is the largets share-holder and licenses the use of the "easy" brand. I pointed out the damage that was being doen to his brand by easyjet's antics, suggesting he google "sleezyjet"....

I got a non-commital response from his office BUT easyjet suddenly reconsidered my case!

I suspect I have not been the only person to do his as he is now taking legal action against easyjet and threatening to withdraw their use of the brand (the fact they are treading on the toes of his other ventures probably hasn't helped) .....

Might be a course of action worth pursuing.....
• Received a phone call today from Easyjet to advise they have re-considered and I will be entitled to the 400 euros each for the 4 of us.

Yeeeharrr

The incompetence of it all still shone through. They picked up the fact I was the primary booking and my partner and children have seperate surnames. They have asked I get them to complete a form and sign it and send it back authorising the refund to go back on my card. So yes even the 7 year old has to do this ---- unbelieveable

Anyways I have it in writing regarding the refund , so I am cool and won't argue. Extract from them below....

Thank you for contacting us.

I would like to sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that the disruption to your flight EZY6007 must have caused you.

Following our telephone conversation today I am pleased to confirm that having revised your case we will be able to process a compensation of 400 EUR per passenger.

As the booking was made with a travel agency we will need some more information of you. Firstly I will kindly ask you to send me the last 4 digits of the card I will process your compensation of 400 EUR. Once I receive it I will call you back to take full card details.

Moreover, in order to proceed with the compensation for other 3 passengers I will need a signed written permission from the passengers to refund other 1200 EUR to your card.

This signed authorisation must state the name of the credit card’s holder, the type (Master Card, Visa, etc.), expiry date and the last four digits of the card.

The scanned document must be sent via email in one of the following formats, .pdf, .html, .gif, .bmp, .jpg format. It is not allowed to exceed 5 MB in size otherwise I will not receive it.

Please send us the email with the attachment by filling out the web form found in the "help" section on our website. I have included the link below;

For those who have not been so lucky - Quote my details - Mr Smith and my booking ref EGTXHR9 for 4 people. They have done it for me so they can do it for you.

Good luck

I contacted esayJet's Executive Support Team last week and asked them to ensure that the bookings for all passengers on flight EZY6007 on 24th July be updated so that everyone can rightfully claim their compensation.

After some delay, I have now had a reply from Joanna Rakowska at easyJet(who has been very helpful) who wrote :-

I would also like to confirm that one of my colleagues updated all of the bookings with the flight from Faro. The comments inform our Customer Services department that all of the passengers from this very flight are indeed entitled to EU Compensation. The system was updated on 17 August and I trust this will enable all of our customers who contact us after that date, to receive the compensation they are entitled to.

I now hope everyone gets their compensation.

Good luck. :)
• There seems to be a problem with Easyjet at Bristol.
We have flown to 3 times and each time we have suffered delays of at least 31/2 hours each time.
• Hi Sorry if I am out of the scope of this discussion but I would like to reach Menzies Aviation at Gatwick airport. Could anyone help me with a phone number? Thanks
Well done Somerset James - excellent work. I was going to give Easyjet until tomorrow before phoning Menzies again for an update.

I have now phoned Easyjet but alas I DIDN'T get the same response as you and was told again that the flight was cancelled because of ATC and therefore no compensation is payable. The lady I spoke to was, however, more helpful and she told me she would need a note added to my booking reference from Bristol Airport confirming compensation is due in my case before any payment could be made.

It does not seem right than there will not be a mass payout for everyone that claims unless you know to get a note put on your booking (which unless you are part of this thread, you won't be aware of it).

I therefore phoned Menzies at Bristol Airport and it is only a manager there that can add a note to my booking so I will have to wait until the weekend for this to be done. Hopefully then my mind will be put at rest.

Good luck everyone.
