Thanks guys. Am off to try and get stroppy lungs sorted. Severe asthma and had some sort of bug that goes with antib's then returns around 3 days after finishing course. Hosp dont really know what it is yet so its tests then hopefully treat it. I've packed for 4 days and then have another bag a friend can bring up if it goes to my normal 10- 14 day stay. I'm out of practice with this as not been in for over 18 months. I used to be in at least every 6 months.
My lap top will be going as got tv on it, a few books, mp3 and crochet. My own mug is vital to me as often shake and paper cups are hopeless with the shakes.0 -

HUGE chunk out of my minimal savings but I reckon it'll be well worth it.
Sheeps68 very best wishes for your hossy visit. I hope all goes well for you.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Ooh, they're great, aren't they? Mine has meant I could do dog-sitting (I specify that my "guests" must be able to walk sensibly with the scooter) and that's a great help towards retaining some vestige of sanity.:D
.
I've been out in it twice now, it doesn't handle drop curbs very well so I'll have to find the best route in to town but I took the dog for a walk with my mum and we went so far that we got to the nearest corner shop (not actually that far), it was such a novelty to go in and buy a packet of sweets like I used to as a kid.
Also, I didn't realise how much energy I burn when walking as I'm usually sweating buckets even with a tshirt on but I had quite a thick jumper on when I was on the scooter and I started to get a bit chilly. Just as well I'm a lurker on the Grabbit board too as I got myself a fairly sturdy coat from the Regatta outlet sale (that someone posted) which I think will come in very handy, especially when it comes to winter. It hasn't come yet but if it's meant for out door enthusiasts rocking up mountains and such it should be alright for little old me on my scooter.0 -
sheeps68 Good luck with your hospital vist and hoe it all goes well.
formaldehyde_perfume Really glad to hear you got your scooter and its helping. There will be no stopping you now;)
Trialia and soolin Not sure if you are back yet but hope you had a brilliant time.
Emptied out the school cupboard today and found folders from my ds playgroup and he is 9 now:o I am suffering again now though my arms really hurt but I am so desperate to get this house organised even just a bit at a time.
Got a bit giddy earlier because a freebie I posted went in the weekly email. I know its not a lot and most people have probably had it but I'm easily pleased:rotfl:
Hope everyone has had a lovely bank holiday weekend.

I'm back but so tired I'm logging out now and having an early night. We met up several times in the same events, ended up sitting in the late late late jamming sessions singing and listening to some pretty decent music. I also hope Trialia doesn't mind me mentioning it but she has a lovely singing voice. needing-help - I got home about lunchtime yesterday, went straight to bed for a very long nap, went to my friend's to pick up my cat, then back to sleep! I've had a great time, but am completely done in, and have... *opens calculator, brain not in service* 1304 unread emails and Facebook messages with which to catch up. That'll be my afternoon, if I can stay awake that long. Thankfully I don't have to read all the Freegle emails and can just check subject lines!I also hope Trialia doesn't mind me mentioning it but she has a lovely singing voice.
Awww, thank you.I have this bad habit of not being able to look at my audience when I'm singing solo, and I cannot sing two songs in a row (as you probably heard!) because of the stage fright, but covering Recessional with Eric was tons of fun.
It was really nice to put a face to a name.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
I've been vrooooom-ing about on my scooter ever since I got it. Yesterday I went in to town and managed to get loads of errands done (far more than any other time beforehand) and today I popped up to the pet shop in the next village with my doggy on my lap and spent quite a lot on treats and fun things for him, but shhhh I didn't say that.
When I got my scooter I got a bag to go on the back of it and I'm so glad I did, it's really useful to put my shopping in and holds quite a lot without being too bulky.
This independence is really doing me the world of good, especially as I now have a physio appointment and don't have to work out if my mum can drive me etc; same with the gp, prescriptions, job centre, CAB and things, it's brilliant.0
