I'm in the historians and archaeological know it alls (which is weird as two of my sons have done/are doing that at uni). I'm a seamstress though and will be changing guilds when I get there.

I was assigned Missionaries to start with, and I swapped with someone else because Kalina's a Seamstress and I do actually sew a lot ;)

Thanks for the good wishes, guys!

What is interesting is that he is prepared to talk in some depth about how it affects him. He says that if he tried to hide it away it would mean other sufferers would think it was something that we shouldn't be talking about, by discussing it openly he believes, and i agree, that it will help other people affected by it.

  • I am finally free from the trappings of the non-existent public transport round here, I just got a mobility scooter :D HUGE chunk out of my minimal savings but I reckon it'll be well worth it.

I'm trying to work out what to pack for a stay in hospital next week. Bit tricky as dont know how long its for or exactly when I'm going in. Think I shall do 2 bags and get someone to take second one in if kept for more than a few days. Its not local hosp either so not easy asking friend to get things as at least an hours journey to central London. Either way it will be worth it as fed up feeling ill and pathetic.

I got told to just pack clothes, toiletries and things to do. That's all I packed last time. (plus a few other bits because of the bleeding issues I was having)

I would advise to pack too much rather than too little in this case, but don't go over board else you won't be able to carry it. A personal radio and headphones will be invaluble if you happen to have one, music can get boring after a while and their entertainment systems cost a bomb - also, you could get majorly peeved at all the constant noise or neighbours visitors etc

    Hope everything goes okay. :A

I would also pack something like a book - so you have something to do (you haven't said whether you're going to have an operation or anything) that doesn't require too much concentration.

I found that all I wanted to do was sleep - was in too much pain the previous night to sleep and just sleep (for 12 hours!) after dinner.
