Youngest has had extra medication added into his asthma regime to see if that keeps him anymore stable. He is still not upto his normal peak flows but he is getting there, so the asthma nurse is a little happier than she was a fortnight ago although he still has to take his orange puffer for a further week or so to make sure.
So now he has 3 different colours and tablets (not prednisolone) to take.....the tablets for a trial period of 3 months every night to see if they make a difference. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

is the night drug singulair Sue?
My husband and son are on singulair and it works well for a few months but then you need to have a break of them for a while, it takes ages to get into the system but it has worked for my two.0 -

I hope that you had a lovely birthday pet, it was 25 wasnt it?
A milestone between being a kid and a fully fledged adult to my friend and I but things might have changed since then.
What have you done about your dental surgery mess?0 -
*laughs* None of you missed it, in fact; my 25th is today. My sister's 23rd was Saturday. I just got back from my birthday party, and I had a lovely time.
Really nice dinner at my favourite (treat) restaurant, and came home with balloons tied to my bra strap. *grin* I may not be able to dance all night, but I can enjoy myself without alcohol, thank goodness!
Thanks, all of you.
sunnyone, I haven't been back in touch with my local hospital on that one, but I talked to a dentist in Iowa who has some experience with patients with Ehlers-Danlos, and she was a great help. She told me the sharp-edged deformed socket would probably reform in a couple of weeks, and it has. The other two don't hurt any more, but they're still open (damn EDS, it takes so long to heal). So I know they won't even offer me a plate over there - and I'm going to need it - until I'm properly healed. I can deal, but I'm having words with that surgeon next time, and taking the email and details the other doctor sent me.Homosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
Hi All,
Granny's back! Things have moved on a bit since I was last here, my GP has referred me to the Physio Terrorists, and I'm knackered!
Even the simple exercises leave me puffing, I had two falls before Christmas, and have constant pain particularly in my butt as a result. Going to buy a coccyx cushion to ease the pressure.
Walking is worse now, I only leave the house if I must. I on;y go out accompanied. Carrying stuff is almost impossible now, my hands are getting numb in the last two fingers each side.
Will be moving soon, as soon as I can save enough for a Man & Van. The house I'm going to has larger rooms, but less of them, better floorspace and layout. It needs work, but hopefully I can get it done fairly quickly. I may have to live downstairs and hand over the top floor to my son, unless I can get a stair lift fitted.
Once I get moved I can finally get my DLA claim under way.
Great to be back with you all!0
