Employers expecting people to work for £6.50 an hour!!

What is it with the employers out there that expect the earth from employees for between 6 and 7 quid an hour, it's a disgrace to expect people to work for these sorts of sums, i remember the wages were higher than this ten years ago, is it a case of Employers taking advantage of the lack of jobs about, knowing damn well they'll be takers for their measly wage?

Why not start your own business and offer higher amounts of money then?

Plus after they've worked there a certain length of time, I think they get discounts on stuff?

It's more than minimum wage - so what's the problem?

If i couldn't pay my employees a livable wage wouldn't start a business.

You do realise the NMW is £5.80 which is a lot of low skilled labour get paid at. The NMW is a livible wage so £6.80 should be even better!
