Employers expecting people to work for £6.50 an hour!!

I think people understand when a small or medium sized company can't pay more. Nobody wants to see a company go bust and more people loosing their jobs. Its the larger corporations still bringing in healthy profits that annoy. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Ark at you "a car is a luxury..."...lol
It's also a necessity for most, just like paying the bills, eating and a roof to sleep under at night, unless you suggest we all live in tents and live off the land....lol
Why is a car a necessity? Are you banned from public transport?Gone ... or have I?0 -
I mean you take £6.50 an hour at 40 hours a week = £260 before tax, take your stoppages out of that then calculate what your getting a month, then deduct your food, rent, bills, car and see how much you have left, thats if you can stretch it round that far..then tell me thats living!!!
It's a disgrace, i can't wait for the job market to pick up because maybe then some of these liberty taking sons of !!!!!es that employ people for next to nothing will have to up their wages and cut their own greedy profits or they just won't get anybody to work for them.
i get £850 a month and i reckon i could live on that but it might be tight0 -

What about people that don't live near a convenient public transport service, like those living in rural parts, what about people who's jobs are off the beaten track?..what about those that work 20 miles plus from home and find the travel expenses of public transport more expensive than a car, what about those with physical disabilities of some kind that depend on their car?????
Just get rid of the cars aye????
yeah good idea mate, take your blinkers off!!!0 -

For some people they can be needed, however for the VAST majority they are not needed.
You are sounding like one of those 'poor me' brigade. What have you done to earn a better wage? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

Rubish, the criteria i set out for needing a car above effects plenty, not some, plenty!!
I take it your either on mega money or your one of those employers looking to exploit the desperate for a low wage, whats up feeling the pinch in your pocket at the mere mention of the morality of it all??0 -

I earn a decent wage yes but I have worked for NMW for a few years.
There is nothing immoral in offering NMW, it is a liveable wage and as have said before maybe you need to adjust the way you live?
Also you have not answered the question about what you have done to further yourself and actually deserve a higher wage? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
