Failing an MOT the car is entered for before the old one expires doesn’t somehow cancel the old one so the car will still be legal as far as the need to have a current MOT is concerned

But, just about anything you can fail an MOT on will also result in the car being un-roadworthy by virtue of whatever it failed on, and you can be prosecuted for that.

Also, lack of MOT attracts a small fine & no points whereas un-roadworthy offences invariably come with points and a bigger fine

Well if it is then it bloody shouldnt be, if a vehicle has just been declared as un road worthy then how does a piece of paper issues months previously protect it? Thats just wrong. 100% wrong. Thats like me saying "i just crashed this car, its got no front end, but it passed an MOt 6 months ago so i can still drive it" !!!!ing stupid. Pathetic.

Anyway i'll be leaving this forum now, as you are all incredibly spiteful and horrible to people if they happen to get something wrong (which is morally right anyway)

Horrifically spiteful and very poor attitude towards people.

    Goodbye.

    Jamie

    You have some neck!!!

Calling us spiteful and you call me a blind bat.

Close the door on your way out ;)

I was only passing on information i was told by professionals, which sounded right to me, as i dont see how a car which has just failed an MOT (the whole point of an MOT is to check the car is roadworthy) can be allowed on the road on the basis it was ok 6 months earlier.

So i'll be leaving now, you obviously dont want debate, you just want to get away with as much as you can no matter how wrong it is.

People like you sit there specifically waiting for someone to get something "wrong" so you can make them feel small.

    So !!!! off.

I guess you are in great angry that you know you have been ripped off now by the garage that did your MOT telling you it's old one wasn't valid, when, simply it was still.

Please don't rant at me, I do nothing of the kind sitting here and waiting for someone to get it wrong, I get things wrong sometimes, but when I do, I admit to it, I don't go throwing insult in injury.

But keep posting, your making me laugh with your insults :rotfl:

So you think its ok for vehicles which are UNROADWORTHY to still be allowed on the road?

    Yes that's what I think.

    jamie789 wrote: »
Why dont you just scrap the MOT system entirely.

    Why not! :D

Why would someone con me yet not ask for more money? The only thing he got out of it was keeping the car for an extra 45 minutes, 45 minutes he couldve spent on someone elses car earning money.

So if there is a mistake anywhere then its the Garage owner making an honest mistake, as he's not made money out of me, if anything he's lost it.

And i dont handle !!!!ing jumped up people like you very well, people thinking they own the !!!!ing earth. I hate people like you.

Summer holidays, don't you just love them :D

Well dont you think there is a flaw in the system if unroadworthy cars are allowed on the road?No

No, my car is road legal, it was MOT'd last month, but if I wanted too, I could go and get another MOT tomorrow, might fail on something, but my CURRENT MOT would STILL be valid.
Get over it, go to bed!
