Wheres best to buy boys clothes?

I am fed up of buying cheap kids clothes that fall apart or look really tatty after being repeatedly washed!
I have two boys age 6 and 4 and so, ideally, I want to buy clothes for the older one that will last long enough to be handed down to the younger one. I dont want to have to throw loads away and buy new again as it is not very "sustainable". However I dont want to spend a fortune either!
Which shops have the best value clothes, not necessarily the cheapest but which will not wear out really quickly? Also, I dont particularly want my boys to look like trainee teenagers in mini skateboarder outfits etc IYKWIM. for example, the current Next Directory boys' clothes are absolutely awful.

Any clothes that my ds has got (usually for presents, I'm an asda girl myself and I don't have any kids to pass the clothes down to) from BHS have always washed and worn well, in fact I've just put a pair of pj's that he's had and worn to death for about 3 years  in a charity bag. They were age 2-3 and he's now five LOL (In my defence they were too big for him when he first started wearing them) they were still in pretty good nick considering.0

Boden clothes are fantastic, value-wise not so great but they do have some really good quality sales that offer 50% or so discounts. Debenhams are also really good and have plenty of sales and choice.0

Second Sports Soccer. fantastic value clothes for boys. I also get things from Tesco and Peacocks.
What is it with some clothes that seem to grow with the child. I remember son had a t-shirt that was 18-24months that fitted for that age and was still fitting when he was 3 1/2.:rotfl:0 -
I've found Next, Marks and Spencers and Adams to be fairly good,Asda are also ok, found Matalans stuff to be really poor quality0

I am in the same position DS1 aged 6 , DS2 aged nearly 3. I have found that paying the little bit extra pays off . Marks, Next seem to wash up well, and are not necessarily "dated" . Tesco and Asda are also worth looking at , although if you are planning on hand me downs , dont bother with the value range at Tesco. I, too find Matalans clothes to be a bit poor , although their socks are fine . Primark is great for Jim Jams and trackky bottoms although their sizing for trousers is odd .0

I buy DS's clothes from peacocks, primark and asda, but my neighbour's sister has recently started to pass on clothes from her son who's about a year older so DS has enough clothes to last him for at least a year! :jKate

I buy 90% of DS and DD clothes from Tesco, in fact DS is still wearing a 3-6 mth t-shirt and he is now nearly 6 but then he is quite small, but they always wash well and wear brilliantly.
George at ASDA also excellentfor fashionable stuff, I get my kids 2 sets of clothes a year each (big shops) and always spend £50 a time but come away with loads.Proud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0
