My son is in Glasgow(or quite near) Beanie.
As for the gold I expect to get good money as I have a full sovereign,a witch and two heavy chains and bracelets and numerous rings in top condition plus a few bits of scrap gold....if I don't like the price then I won't sell.
OK, I'll bite - what is a witch..?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

"Blowing your mind, 'cause you know what you'll find, when you're looking for things in the sky." OMD 'Julia's Song'0 -
A gold witch with gemstones in...lol...had it on at the rave as Wol commented on it.0

Might you not be able to get better money for them selling them as items of jewellery and not as scrap, Taxi (well, apart from the actual scrap!).
Just a thought...xPlease call me 'Pickle'

Thanks Pickle...poor DH paniced and thought we needed the money when I mentioned that I was thinking of selling my gold ...hewas really shocked as I've always worn loads but I just want a minimalistic easy sort of life now.
Since getting breast cancer my whole outlook on life has changed and the simple things are appealing to me.
Just want rid of the mortgage so that DH doesn't have to work so hard anfd that I DON'T NEED TO WORK UNLESS i WANT TO.0 -

Admirable aims, Taxi. I can understand why. As someone who has more clutter than most and can't WAIT to be rid of it, I sympathise.
Here's to getting rid of what's not necessary. As someone's signature on this site says, everything that counts cannot be counted, and not everything that counts can be counted. Or worn. Or boxed. Or sold on Ebay. Please call me 'Pickle'

Whoever said that has a great deal of sense as every word is true.
My plans over the next few months are to declutter the house by binning, shredding, recycling, charity shop etc etc...will probably take weeks and weeks but doing a drawer/cupboard etc should get there eventually.
E bay doesn't feature in my equations as is too much effort /time so will pass all good stuff on to charity shops.
Need to start thinking about christmas soon as well as unusually haven't even started.0 -

To be fair, Taxi, I think you've had bigger things to worry about. but go ahead, by all means, especially if you can find some bargains!
And well done on the new life plan: I think what you are planning sounds great, so best of luck with it all. I'm hoping to adopt much of which you are planning myself, so I will read with interest. xPlease call me 'Pickle'

The problem with christmas shopping is I don't have a clue yet what I'm buying anyone but at least I have plenty of time to think about it.
The decluttering is doing my head in so need to get off my backside and make a start...so tomorrow I'll do some even only if it's a drawer.0
