Hi Taxi! You and I are online at the same time, makes a change! I'm sorry you've been down, but I'm sure its sometimes unavoidable after what you've been through - I think its a question of being kind to yourself and getting through it as beneficially as possible - and you used it to great effect, buying new clothes to wear at the gym, and getting a good deal there - well done you! I'm sure regular exercise will help with those down periods - they may well still be there, tbh, but they'll have less effect, be less deep/not last as long, that sort of thing.

It was the annoyance at having to have the medical and the frustration of not being able to do as much as I would like to that was getting me down.So I put my thinking head on to see what I could come up with.
Am sure the gym is going to be a great help to me on all sorts of levels especially with finding me again and weight loss.
  • Yes you are right about the gym helping on all levels and one benefit jumps out at me that you will be more 'out of the house'..you have been forcibly (sp) stuck in the house for so long it will be great for your confidence to start to socialise and form more of a life again.

Can I ask a question about the H*lifax Rewards, do you just transfer £1000 in and then out again straight away to get the £5 reward? And do you and OH have an account, is that allowed? Thinking of doing it but not sure of the finer details.

    Thanks
    KM

The halifax accounts we have one each and one joint...this gives us £15 p/m.......you can put £1000 in in one go and straight out if you wish.
I put money in here and there all month but transfer it around all the accounts then onto alliance and leicester which is my main account
ie £125 put in my account...transferred to joint account...transferred to DHs account...then to Alliance and leicester.I do that all month with all our cash...
then I transfer the £15 p/m into savings.

I've been getting out a little bit recently and feeling better for it but you are definitely right it will help with my confidence again.

I will be going on friday as waiting for stuff to come from marisota tomorrow.

Went to WI and stayed the same weight.

You're going to get the occasional stay-the-same though Taxi - just need to analyse whether it was anything in particular you've done differently or just "one of those weeks", and then move on from it.

Excellent negotiation with that gym membership - the swimming will be great for you both mentally and physically I should think - there is just something about the sort of absorbtion you can feel in a swimming pool that is more relaxing than almost any other sort of exercise I think.

I like the idea of a Round robin on the accounts :D I have just worked out my budget and reckon i can make over £400 spare this month to play around with.( on top of my regular overpayments) I can't wait to have proper savings again.:D

Well done on your weight loss, that is a fabby amount and i bet you are feeling the benefit. :T

Sorry to hear about being down, i echo what KC says though and be kind to yourself. x

In my World, Spring started on March 1st :p Despite the thick freezing fog and heavy frost that I woke up to this morning

Staying the same is better than a gain - you didn't put on and that's the main thing ;)
