Info about Jon Kabat-Zin and his course http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=7654964

In the UK there are mindfulness centres in Aberdeen, Bangor and Oxford. Dr Mark Williams and colleagues have written the English version of J K-Z's Full Catastrophe Living and it is called 'The mindful way through chronic unhappiness and depression'.

There are courses across the UK, but I would be sure of qualifications before parting with any cash. There is also a scottish website (I think https://www.livinglifeto the full.com) and it has a self guide CBT course.

Positive vibes for anyone in chronic pain ... NL x
  • So sorry to hear of so many of you suffering. Bah to Dr's prescribing stuff that doesn't help and just knocks you out too. :(

Taxi I'm sure this has been mentioned before but if you're wanting exercise without the stresses and strains on your joints & back how about swimming?

Thanks everyone...sorry everyone else has had such a lot of uncontrolled pain...will be making an appointment at DRs.
Haven't done anything again today but plan to start on my list tomorrow.

I'll be taking up some exercise when I get the pain under control...

    Hi Taxi

Sorry to hear you're still suffering, but you've had some good advice there. I've only recently heard about Mindfulness but didn't know it started in New England - might be worth investigating while you're waiting for a medicinal combo that works. Hope that is soon.
    Take care xx

We had some gd news 2day, got physio appointment nxt week re my knee, and bless him, I must have the sweetest gp there is, I had anaphylxis shock Sunday ngt, full saga.... as dropping mates boys bday prezzie off, thought docs on wrote, can re-order direct - popped a note on the request asking for repeat allergy tabs and steriods, using my supply up, sods law couldn't remember the posh name, it was jabbie-pen, steriod - can you do the doseage and the allery ones. With a PS - Sorry couldn't remember proper names, bless his heart he rang this afternoon to see how I was and to say the prescription was ready. It sounds daft - it just makes you feel valued. x
