    According to him..lol

Unfortunately, it's not whether you can drive in the snow, it's whether other people can. Even though your area is fairly flat, I wouldn't like to bet on it...

I've nothing to do for christmas..it's all done.
The only shopping I need to do is milk, bread and sandwich stuff...so won't be going anywhere near a supermarket..would rather pay a bit extra at small tescos corner shop for my sanity..lol

DH only did one job tonight ..he was going really slow but the backend was still coming out so he came home..just looking outside ..it looks like there'll be plenty more snow tonight...
think the main roads are okish but the side streets are bad and thats where he ends up picking up/droping off so not worth it.

that's a fair point...it's hard for people to stop at the junctions..we'll just have to take the loss of earnings as it's better than getting the cab wrote off or worse.

    Hi Taxi,

we were forecast a dry grey day today but had a full on blizzard at lunchtime & then the sky cleared & we had bright sunshine for the rest of the day ?!? More forecast tomorrow so it's all about getting tree, lights & decorations done here. Really need to wrap some presents too as the place looks like a mess.

Not long to go now with the rads, you're doing so well

    xx

You are right, Taxi it is not worth it.

DH's friend is a taxi driver and he gave up yesterday afternoon - it's not worth it!

Morning Taxi, glad to hear the rads are better than the chemo.

We got caught out on late booking prices. We went to Mexico in 2009 and booked while there were still normal deal such as child places. 11 nights costs us the same at a 24 hr all inclusive than the previous years self catering did to Lanzarote (which we hated - sorry DT). This year the prices were OK when the book came out but we didn't know what work we would have so we waited. By the time it got to the end of the summer the prices were way higher than last year and the late bookings were ridiculous. Cuba was just as bad.

Mum and Dad went on the new Queen Victoria (decked out like the old liners!) for their 40th and renewed their vows. That is a very special ship if you are looking for something amazing. They have also been on the Princess cruises which are owned by the same company and although more modern in design inside and not quite as "posh" are still brilliant.

You just have to check that some don't include snacks or drinks, and trips are usually extra, but you pick and choose what you want to do. Dad has always found them very helpful when asking. Also make sure you get a room with a balcony so you have doors and air, especially if you can get claustrophobic, the lower decks only get port hole windows .
