I've been having a good think and a good talk with DH over the last few days over different things financial etc and life in general.
We have decided whilst we'd like to pay off the mortgage by the end of 2011 it would be very difficult to do and life is too short. We've decided to carry on saving as we have been doing but if we want a holiday etc we'll have one.Life is too short...we are going to pay the mortgage as usual whilst still saving...the mortgage is due to finish in 2018 anyway...
If things get bad with either of us becoming ill then we'll pay the savings off the mortgage if not we'll let it run it's course and we'll have a load of savings. So I'm not going to have a sig to reflect this.0 -
Absolutely - you need to keep your strength up, and have good things to look forward to - so you really *need* a holiday to look forward to.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I am proud of myself as went out for the 1st time in months today by myself.Didn't go far only the shops and bought some lovely braising steak which will go in the slow cooker for tomorrows tea and some bargainous bread ..6 loaves for £1.50 due to go out of date 10th dec so stuck them all in the freezer.Very cold out but nice to go out.Start my rads tomorrow afternoon.0

Have had a good think about my hopes and plans for 2011...so here goes
(1)Start losing weight...10st to shift..will get my WWs books out and take it from there.
(2)Exercise...need to build this up very slowly...will start with small walks
(3)Get back to full strength...this will take a good while.
(4)Put as much as possible in savings
(5)Look into travel insurance..due to having had cancer can be difficult to obtain
(6)Book 3 weeks holiday in Cuba for January 2012.
(7)Renew DHs pssport and check when mine runs out and renew if needed
(8)Be happy0 -
Good bargains there, Taxi...well done!
Glad you are feeling well: you should definitely have a holiday, and the rest makes sound financial sense.
Take care and keep warm. xPlease call me 'Pickle'
