Ooh Midnight, what a fab idea! :T0
-
Hey guys thanks for the fab ideas!! I've seen a sewing machine in argos for £59.99 that has really fab reviews, so come payday I may well invest and start to run up some samples for advertising. take photos and can then make to order or some one off pieces! I love the idea of names on the aprons midnight and will certainly pm you when i get the chance! also thought of seasonal cushion covers fabric tree decorations and the like. oooh i'm going to be busy... Which is a good thing if i'm honest because.....
Isnt it funny how the world has a way of pointing you in a certain direction, how plans can change at the smallest moments notice and priorities flit from one direction to the other... Two days ago I was excitedly planning to snowball one debt onto the other, paying it off quicker etc etc. with a sudden change of priority and direction I have been notified this morning that I am (along with 8 other colleagues in my office alone) at formal risk of redundancy. We will know for certain on 10th december (happy christmas everyone!) and will leave post on the 10th March. We may be invited to reapply for our position but if it is on the T+C's that have already been discussed i wil have no option but to walk away. Meaning I have 4 1/2 paydays left until potential unemployment.
Now I could view this as an     moment, or I could just have a tiddly  and then choose to view it as the universe, after months of uncertainty and pontificating, pointing me in a direction of finally taking the plunge to live my dreams and strike out in the direction I wish. So I have chosen to do just that...
BUT
that means that from now (well, after my holiday) until february I have to be extremely frugal, save every penny that I can and not worry about overpaying my debt but let it tick down at the rate it is currently so that when I leave, should worst come to worst and I dont have a job to go to I will have money behind me to support myself until then.
The alternative train of thought is to throw as much money as i possibly can at my debt so that when I leave, should worst come to worst and I dont have a job to go to I wont have any money behind me but my outgoings are much lower. swings and roundabouts people or are there benefits to one over the other that i cant see as being too close to the wood to see the trees? Help!!
So, Panias new goal. Including the sewing money, and still allowing me to do my 12 crazy challenges, I have to save £5000 by any means between now and february 25th. That sum half fills me with dread but also, with the recent positive changes in panias life fills me withat the same time. If i believe in myself enough, and in the universe to provide me with what I need in divine right order and when ready to be accepted, I WILL GET THERE!!! this will ONLY be a positive in my life and not, as it would have been last year a reason for me to fall into negativity and spend more time feeling sorry for myself than moving forward.
Love to all!!xx
debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Oh blimey! I'm glad you're seeing this in a positive light though. My thoughts would be to save and continue to pay your debts at the current rate so you have some money behind you. Then when you are happily into your new career you can start getting them knocked downDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Pania, if I remember rightly you've not been in the job very long, so redundancy is likely to be limited if any unless they do an augmented severance package. But what you do have is until next March in a paid job to hunt for a new job/organise the new career, and maybe one that you'll like better. Also start the networking on linkedin if you haven't already.
Good luck with the job hunting.0 -
