I bought it at T Mobile on the high street, not online. Went to 2 different branches, was out of stock in one but 2 in stock in the other (which was only 1 min walk away!!).

Anybody know if the HTC hero is any good?
htc hero is an old model now. the legend was an updated version of that. the wildfire is a cheaper version similar to the legend and desire with lower specs but would be better than the hero i guess.

the legend / desire / wildfire are supposed to get the 2.2 update. the hero will NOT get the 2.2 android software update as per htc, but unofficial lite versions willbe avilable from xda / modaco / cyanogen etc but you will have to modify the software for that.

HTC Wildfire for me- poss T-Mobile with 3GB internet and booster allowing unlimited texts too.

OP- you need to know how much you talk and text roughly to get the best value contract- no point getting a super phone free on a 50min/50text contract if you are going to call for 200mins and send 300 texts as you'll get mad bills. Equally paying for 600mins and texts if you only use 20% is a waste- best getting a suitable mins/texts allowance. Equally do not get suckered in to cashback deals unless you know you will follow and harass them, I tend to avoid at all costs!

Have a look here at the HTC wildfire- probably the best budget phone for your needs, others will stretch your budget or not in stock.

  • I think blackberry is good. I have used one for 5 years and now it still works well.
Also, I guess I-phone is great if you can afford. I like I-phone but I have not got enough money :D
