It's when you are sitting on the bagging area that causes the most problems.....they think I have stolen an 'overweight item'....I scan a tub of butter and then 12 stone hits the scales......

If stopped by security you could always use the excuse "I can't believe it's not butter" :rotfl:If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

as previous poster said.
By giving them grapes to pacify them you are in effect, rewarding bad behaviour and thus teaching them that if they make enough of a fuss, you will give in and give them what they want.
And we wonder why the standard of parenting has declined. And i dont blame all the parents. They're under lots of pressure from family, friends, companies etc. It is a lot easier in the short run to give in. But a little perseverance will pay off in the long run.
Also, seeing as eating grapes or food that is paid by weight is depriving the owner permanently with no intent of payment...........i'm gonna perform a citizens arrest next time i see it :rotfl: Although given that i havent seen it being done in the past 20 years......i might be waiting a whileMaybe i should move to a big city.......more people = more chance of one of them stealing
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
If I was really hungry, or my blood sugar was low I would just get some food from the sandwich bit at the front of the store, and eat it outside before I did my shopping. I have had to open a pack of glucose tablets to eat one before I paid, as there was a really big queue, and I decided better that than fainting0

Whats the problem with someone eating round a supermarket,it doesnt bother me at all if others do it.its not my problem.0

Really, what is the problem? Give a logical, coherent, and valid reason?
The VAT and license issues aren't one - the supermarket isn't intending to sell food to let you consume it on premises, so they are not required to add VAT or have a food premises license. There really isn't anything in law stopping me from eating pretty much where I want.
It's not theft, as it is going to be paid for. Lots of services operate like this. Yes, they could refuse payment, but that's really the problem of the person with the sandwich, not yours.
The health and safety argument is rubbish. A hygiene issue with crumbs on the floor? Someone slipping on some sandwich filling? Get real. The number of times I've seen spilled liquids, dropped packets and general obstructions in supermarkets is huge compared to the number of people I see eating food.
I often pick up a sandwich and eat it whilst doing shopping. I'm straight out of work, I'm hungry, and I just want to get my shop done. There's no need for it, but I find it hilarious watching jumped-up muppets get infuriated by it. I even once got asked by some busy body if I was going to pay for the sandwich. I told her I was fully intending to steal it along with all the other shopping in my trolley just to see the look on her face.0
