    Morning everyone,

Lazy day so far, just sitting on the couch with the laptop, although I have managed to check on-line banking so that's something :)

My list for the weekend: -
    • couple of loads of washing and line dry... try and do a couple more today but need to check what the weather's going to do
    • need to do ironing for next week - back to work on Monday after 2 weeks off :(
    • [STRIKE]make HM pizza for tea (have a go at pizza dough in BM)[/STRIKE]
    • tidy house on-going battle, did our bedroom yesterday and living room, but living room is a mess again :(
    • check surveys
    • [STRIKE]check on-line banking and July spend spreadsheet (pay day a week on Thursday)[/STRIKE] just done, think I'm going to be slightly over budget this month... AGAIN, have been on holiday though so still better than I used to be
    • have NSD today and tomorrow failed miserably yesterday, I suggested taking a picnic to the beach but OH said we would just get something when we got back. We ended up being later and OH was starving so I spent over £12 in shops on nothing really
    • [STRIKE]make HM bread[/STRIKE] batch of 12 rolls made - 5 individually frozen for lunches during the week :)
    • Trout for tea from freezer with potatoes from garden

That's it for me I think, I'll update later... have a relaxing Sunday everyone :) x

Tried to check online banking there but the site is down this weekend for "essential maintenance" - oh well. I think I will also try and make some chicken noodle soup this morning.

    Hey chaps

Sorry I fell of the posting wagon, I even bought two sandwiches this week at lunchtime, brains not functioning - so MUST get back on track

    Today
Must do that electric reading as they are telling me they will cut me off (?) its been a week since they sent the wrong estimated bill - read the meter - its £250 for 5 months rather than 569 they said so inputted it online and changed my tariff for one with a free energy owl (I've already got one, but this house has two electric meters so a free new one will be handy - monitoring it today - reading it after 24 hours to work out what's using what)
Must freeze extra food in fridges and feed hens the bits that are too far gone/yuk - did this - and feel very noble, only thing that went to the hens were some dodgy looking mushrooms
Making pasta sauce from the 'almost not great veg' in the fridge, you know the kind, chuck it all in, add a tub of chopped tomatoes, whizz it all up - and no one realises they have eaten celery/courgettes in the tasty look whats in the freezer pasta HM sauce - this is made and looks lovely - needs whizzed and frozen
Sorting out the other shed to make a garden/potting shed - its full of carp from the owners which I'm now sorting out and getting it organised - its been a while now and no progress from them, but its a task and a half!:j:j:jI now have a potting shed - took most of the day but its done!! I might pot some seedlings in there later!
Hand wash a few bits and save the electric of the machine (which isn't here anyway) washing done but its yuk outside - might leave them and hang them inside
Hens fed - changed thier beds too and generally had some 'time' with them to make them less scared of me
Walk doggie probably just here and save petrol - small walk:o
Gardening to do and might sort out my seeds - seeds all now in one place - must sort them out
Sorted out the kitchen and must sort out other bits
Freeze extra tomatoes for later sauce making - done
freeze extra basil - used in thai cooking instead :)
Chop up the spare haggis and freeze it into portions as I am the only one that likes it - all done
    Make some bird cake later
    Read my magazine
PHone clubcard points and change address also ask about subscription which never arrived
not sure what else yet - made some nice coffee and must make that last :)
Organising stuff in general to be more sorted - its a steep slope!

Ok so got a fair bit done yesterday - didn't read magazine etc - ended up collapsed in a heap and watched a movie.

    Today

    Check banks
    Pay phone bill
    Phone clubcard#
Address a couple parcels ready for taking to PO tomorrow
    Water plants and feed them
Plant shrubs I bought on Friday
    Pot up some primula seedlings
    Stake out fence
Mow last lawn if can be bothered - now I've found the extension cable
Go to recycle place with bottles
Use up some jars for screws etc in the new potting shed
Sort out the plastic boxes I've moved and organise a 'tub cupboard'
    Hoover
Sort out a bag for shetland and make sure I've got everything
Take a spare bag to pick up some 'free' plants from a collegue up in Shetland
    Think about ebaying some wool/seeds
Clean utility room - which is the biggest room in the house
Empty a plastic box with a lid so I can put the hen food out to the shed - I'm still undecided about this due to encouraging rats
Drive campervan as he's not been driven all week
    Go for a walk/somewhere!
Find more of my tools and bash nails into shed wall to hang them up in a nice orderly manner
Do some project work as I lose two days this week due to another contract
    Maybe some batch cooking
Make a packed lunch for tomorrow - tea is on project expenses
Must sort out more things to change address with - done one bank, need ot sort out change of address for our magazine subscriptions.
Put the tray of frozen lemons into the frozen lemon slices bag - keep for lemonish icecubes :) saves chucking out the lemon when its going a bit manky

    OK enough from me!!

Mogchops - any pasta sauce will do for pizza base - the kind of stuff I have saved in freezer - IE whizzed up HM pasta sauce will be great - I do add a spoon of sugar as well for the pizza as I think it goes best with the cheese that way.

Typical base, onion, garlic, herbs, tomatoes - cook - whizz up if you want or just chop it fine to begin with.

I usually make a big batch and freeze in yoghurt pot/small tub sizes 4-5 tablespoons worth of sauce - enough for a decent bowl pasta - I freeze it in bags inside the cups/bowls (IYSWIM) and then when frozen put all the 'little bags of sauce' in a bigger bag to keep them together - or when I've done it in tubs (decent yoghurt sized tubs/dip tubs) I just put all the tubs in one section of the freezer together (DD likes alot of pasta) so we normally have some on the go somewhere - if in tubs I don't bother with lids - as when frozen its fine, but you have to be careful when you are freezing it!

Goodluck - I've done the base from those little packets to begin with the dried ones, but the base mix in the breadmaker easy and brilliant!

Waves to you all - sorry for the long list - I'm getting better after my holiday!!

  • Afternoon all.
Had a great day out with Jo and DGD yesterday and only had to pay for the car park so a reasonably good DFW day. Took loads of photos as, in theory, it was a research visit, but we had great fun too.

Today is much more of a "doing" list rather than DFW.
    • run DW and unloaded
    • run WM x2 and hung outside
    • totally blitzed the kitchen as DH does nothing all week
    • cleaned out chicken coop and thoroughly disinfected it (haven't got parasites but don't want them either!)
    • took a bookcase into work which was donated by Jo (saving me money at the recycled furniture place and saved her a trip to the tip)
    • bought bark for chicken pen and spread it around for the girls to play in
    • swept the stairs
    • hoovered living room and hall
    • re-used some log roll I took out last weekend on a different border to try to stop the girls kicking soil and stones all over the lawn
All that's left on my list is to go down to the allotment, which we will do once the Grand Prix is finished. Everything stops in this house when there's F1 on! :o
